To expect kids tights to not have huge seams along toes

My dad (6) is a total nightmare with clothes and fabrics it’s so difficult to buy things she doesn’t hate the feel of. It’s like every little bump is intensified for her- I think I’ve had a thread about socks before & got special seamless ones but they had no seam along but like a knot at each end so had to return.
She is currently wearing school tights that she Is definitely too big for but the toe seam is soft. I’ve already bought 2 lots of new ones but they were no good & I can’t remember where the old ones were from.
They had the size printed along front & back in white if anyone has any idea or can help in finding better ones.

Yanbu - I turn Dad's tights inside out!

A friend of mine had this problem with her dd. She now buys tights that are designed for children with ASD, and swears by them. Might be worth looking into?

Justyou · 29/11/2017 08:44

Thank you - I’ll check them out today

PEX tights are often recommended for kids with sensory issues. They do have a bit of a seam still though, and the two little strings at each end.

Thank you for starting this post OP. My DD is an absolute nightmare with socks and tights. No SEN but she just absolutely detests the seams on tights and socks. I thought she was the only one and that I was going mad! I'm definitely going to look for the tights designed for children with ADS.

Hi @Justyou

I searched on Google and this place seems to sell seamless tights for children and adults, so might be of use?

Either Primark or Tesco have the white band writing. 😊

Neverender · 29/11/2017 09:03

DD's socks from Primark have white non-slip tacky (sticky) writing on the feet if that helps?

Justyou · 29/11/2017 10:27

Thank you, I tried primark ones but they are the ones really bad like huge seam along & a tag inside so don’t think I’d got them there, I was gonna try Asda but at £6-10 don’t wanna waste money

I turn my dd's tights inside out as well. She has started refusing all woolly tights this year, but we have found more adult-like tights are better for her; she has children's 40 denier black tights on today. Idon't want to buy special sensory tights for her as I want her to get desensitized which means exposure. Turning them inside out is a compromise, as is avoiding thick woolly tights.

Def Tesco then, they're the ones we have 😊

InnercityPressure · 29/11/2017 10:59

My similar dd gave up on tights and now just wears leggings (and approved socks) instead.

My DDs tights from Next have white writing inside the waistband
