Is it just me that struggles to go to work?

I work as a Nurse on nights on the bank of 2 hospitals. I'm fine once I get to work but at about 3pm I start to get nervous, anxious sick etc. It's so stupid I want to give myself a kicking for feeling like this.

I think it's ridiculous a grown woman is having a panic attack about going to work, usually when I get there the staff tend to ignore you a bit so I just crack on with my job but it's always so busy and I can't do all the jobs I need to do and sometimes the staffing levels are ridiculous and it all just feels a bit much but we can't really afford for me to go to days.

Does anyone else ever feel like this? How can I give myself a kick up the arse?

AIBU to ask for ideas on how to get myself to work? I don't feel depressed its just it's a bit overwhelming

I am not a bank nurse but still feel this anxiety even with a permanent job. The team is made up of a lot of agency staff so this makes things difficult too. Can you do days instead if you find nights more stressful? I only do days now but I find these are worse sometimes! I need to get out of nursing altogether. I get awful neck, shoulder pain and migraines from the stress.

Not a nurse but feel the same a lot of the time.

I try reminding myself not to overthink and that a high perverse of thoughts are actually useless. I try to feel the moment and ten take work as it comes.

Sometimes it works but Sunday nights are usually my worst part.

I'm in MH nursing and just been signed off sick with stress, it's not just you, sorry to hear you're going through it too :(

I'm an ahp not a nurse but I understand how you feel, nights were bad for me too. I had cbt and tablets and am a bit better now. I'll always be a worrier but do feel thetablets help me deal with it better. I should imagine agency work or bank work would make everything worse xxx

The teamness is what makes me love my job

Not a nurse but I know the feeling. I hated the place I trained in to do my current job. I dread it a bit anyway and found it worse when I routinely worked 12-9 at the place I trained, because I had time to get up in the morning, do my own thing for a bit and build up the dread! Only stuck it as I had an end date.
