Selling kids' stuff

DH and I had a big row last night because my DS13 who hasn't been able to decide on an Xmas present, has now decided on an Xbox one s in the Black Friday sale for £170. I'd said to him that, because I'd already bought him some other stuff, if need to sell his Xbox 360 to help pay for it. DH is really cross as he says I'm being inconsistent as in the past year we've sold stuff belonging to my DS and his kids and haven't given them the cash. This has been older stuff though that they've grown out of etc. There's been one exception when we have DSD12 twenty quid for her old trainers so she could buy new ones. DH is saying this means his kids will be hard done to as the value of their gifts will now be less than my DS's altogether as we have to count my DS main present as being 170, not whatever the difference is between the sale of the old 360 and the new Xbox (maybe £100). I think this case is different to the other stuff we've sold as his 360 and games are still 'current' and are worth more than the stuff we sold in the past and also cos we promised him he could have the money from the sale of it two years ago but he changed his mind about selling it. Who is BU?

He's being unreasonable in thinking it matters that the kids have different values of presents. Surely if they are getting what they want it shouldn't matter how much it all costs.
