To ask parents not to smoke at the school gates?

Every morning myself and my children have to walk through a cloud of smoke. Surely smoking at the school gate is unreasonable??
I've mentioned it to the school but they seem reluctant to address the issue.
Its particularly bugged me this week while I'm suffering from bronchitis. Breathing clean air is hard enough but having to breathe in that crap just to take my children to school it horrendous.

But then my opinion won't count will it, obviously because I smoke now and again I'm branded a particular 'type' of person, that doesn't take others into consideration ever. If I give up tomorrow will my personality suddenly change?!

Actually, I think the fact that most smokers think this is unacceptable speaks volumes. It’s absolutely not the case that it’s only non-smokers who think people shouldn’t smoke outside school gates (or around the doors of hospitals, or many other places where it’s very antisocial to do so - even if legal).

I’d imagine the inconsiderate arsehole smokers piss normal people who happen to be smokers off a great deal. Possibly even more than they do nonsmokers (like me). Smokers who make sure not to impose their smoking on others are acutely aware that you do not have to smoke in children’s playgrounds or outside school gates, and have to be a bit of an arsehole to do so (because they don’t do it themselves).

I’m amazed at how many parents actually smoke still!
I’m not particularly bothered, just surprised.
Part of my job is selling cigarettes at the kiosk- the parents are from my child’s primary school.

Lol to the person likening smoking at the school gates to actually BREATHING 😂😂😂
