Has anyone ever forgotten to be Father Christmas

I dreamt last night that I’d forgotten to put the presents in the children’s stockings (I know, I know Confused)

Just wondered whether anyone had ever done this for real? I’ve had a few near misses forgetting to be the tooth fairy but never the big one Grin

One year we (DM, DD & me) were over half way through a 3+ hour drive to my grandmother's house for Christmas & realised one of us had not packed DD's main present in the car.
Cue argument out of earshot of DD in a layby, frantic calls from a phone box (pre-mobile) to DB who grudgingly made a detour to collect the present from DM's house.
Order was restored & DD loved the present.

We forgot on DD's first christmas. She was 6 months old and had her first cold. She was our PFB and we were in a panic about temperatures and calpol and the fact that she couldn't sleep.

I'm never letting an elf into the house. Way too much pressure. Even with anti anxiety medication I have nightmares about not having bought anyone any presents from about June on. The elf would be the death of me.

The tooth fairy forgot to visit 6yo dd on Wednesday night. She sobbed. I could easily be one of the people here who is so busy with everything else I forget something.

No but it is a recurring nightmare of mine, literally - at least a couple of nights in the run up to Christmas. DH thinks I am nuts. Tooth fairy is a but erratic though, it’s amazing the number of times she has been clumsy and the money has “fallen under the bed”.
