This is moving sooooo much faster than Watergate investigation did.^

It doesn't seem so to me. But I was in my late teens when Watergate was going on so I expect my memory is distorted by the amount of time that's passed.

Watergate was about personal integrity and the desire for power and how far some people would go to obtain and keep it. TrumpRussiaGate is about corruption and greed, and how far some people will go for monetary gain, even at the cost of our democracy. And about the collusion between an illegally elected president, the GOP, and their rich donors to obtain their own ends and enrich themselves before Trumpty Dumpty falls off the wall.

Sorry to crash the thread - recently re-registered after a break but have been following bits and bobs of the Trump threads.

I was discussing with DH last night the possible ways Trump could go down. We thought it most likely that his coterie will invent some kind of Flouncers Corner he can strop off to, a new role in which he might be able to say 'I was overqualified for the position of POTUS', rather than going through impeachment.
