My ds took a very small overdose of 8 tablets six months ago. He's taken bigger ones in the past but these were over a year and a half ago. Aibu to think this sort of risk can significantly reduce in six months? Especially if the person is now medicationed.

There's still some kind of risk if he's done it before.

Who is making the assessment of risk? A doctor?

Splinterz · 20/11/2017 15:44

Ask his medical team.

User700800 · 20/11/2017 16:02

Mh team say low risk

So he took an overdose 18 months ago and then a year later he did the same? Unless something has significantly changed in addition to the medication then I would say he is a risk. Hugs to you all.

In what context?

Ttbb · 20/11/2017 19:21

Um, well surely he's more likely than your average person hence a small rush as the health team have said. They would know best don't you think?

User700800 · 20/11/2017 19:32

Yes but what I mean is he's not a high risk

He's not done it for six months

A risk to whom? A child or himself

Glumglowworm · 20/11/2017 19:42

MN really isn't the place to ask this. None of us know any of the circumstances either of previous ODs, the latest OD or his current state of mind

It's really down to him and the professionals to make that judgement

RatRolyPoly · 20/11/2017 19:54

He's a higher risk than most, OP!
