AIBU to use Michael Mcintyre's Midnight Gameshow as test for all future partners?

For those who haven’t seen it yet, Michael plus film crew pop up in your bedroom in the early hours and subject your partner to a game show.
Without exception every man i have been with would go mental.
The man on last night (just watched on catch up) though bemused played along and found it funny.
I want a guy like him who would find it funny. AIBU to use as a barometer to determine viability of all future relationships?

Sounds like a proper nightmare. You could get him to do the 'man drawer' routine to get you back to sleep though.

GetYourRocksOff · 03/12/2017 00:11

I would fully expect my husband to punch anyone who appeared in our bedroom in the middle of the night.

Sparklingbrook · 03/12/2017 00:12

I assume one of the couple is in on the 'joke' though? Not seen it.

laudanum · 03/12/2017 03:55

Michael McIntyre is an ocean-going prick. The only reasonable reaction to his sudden appearance in close proximity would be to strap him into a giant centrifuge full of scalding hot dogshit, wind it up to 3000 rpm and then jettison him into the sun...

This is fucking beautiful. Grin

I wouldn't want to be with anyone who thinks MM is anything other than a complete tosser..

Luckily dh feels the same way about him as I do

DoctorTwo · 03/12/2017 08:13

ruthlessrooster wins the thread!

WhirlwindHugs · 03/12/2017 09:01

Yes one of the couple nominates, so no chance of pouncing on someone with anxiety. But they don't warn their partner!

yesterday's.

I know MM is not a very exciting comedian, but at least he's not offensive. We can watch the roadshow with the kids and not have half a mind on whether we're going to have to turn it off. He also doesn't actually do that much stand up in it. It's just a bit at the beginning.

Maybe it's just this in between bit of parenting that I'm at, but I appreciate that.

QueenLaBeefah · 03/12/2017 09:04

DH would probably sleep through.

Aweektilltheseason · 03/12/2017 09:59

Hilarious thread, esp if you wake the baby you take the baby Grin

Aweektilltheseason · 03/12/2017 10:01

whirl I love the show it's something we can can watch with with dd 10

birdsdestiny · 03/12/2017 10:06

If dh was in on this I would divorce him. The show would be spectacularly boring as well, as I would lock myself in the bathroom and they would be forced to film the closed door for how ever many hours it took them to leave.

HarryBiscuit · 03/12/2017 10:15

If I was the partner in on it I would have done a Charlotte Tilbury and done some makeup for bed. Though that would probably arouse suspicion.

Sparklingbrook · 03/12/2017 10:43

I couldn't watch much of that. Cringe!

BonnesVacances · 03/12/2017 10:55

Unfortunately DH would hate it too as he doesn't like being woken in the night, but it has no reflection on his usual sense of humour or sense of fun. But agree it's very good entertainment for the telly and those who've done it are very good sports. Obviously their wives know them well and that's why they were put forward for it.

DH & I were at one of the recordings for this show and were really very impressed with MM. At the recording MM was so natural and warm. He spent a lot of time with the audience, there was no diva behaviour and was genuinely a very funny guy. He went up a lot in my estimation.

DH's cousin is on the comedy circuit and so we know about who all the dicks are (PK I'm looking at you Hmm) and he has only nice things to say about MM. It's very hard to find a stand up comedian you can take your DC to see, so we shouldn't knock him, even if he doesn't reflect your own sense of humour.

As an aside, his autobiography is one of the best I've read. He has worked very hard to get where he is.

pollydollymolly · 03/12/2017 12:04

Dh would divorce me if I did that to him and I would also do the same. So yes I suppose you could use it as a test but I would want to weed out those who found it funny and played along because we just wouldn't be compatible.

DorisDangleberry · 03/12/2017 20:00

If MM turned up at my house in the middle of the night I would pin him down and shit in his mouth

WhirlwindHugs · 03/12/2017 20:13

It's good to know he's a nice guy too Bonnes!
