I need a new book to read, I don't mind if it's fiction or non-fiction or the genre. I'm looking for a real page turner that will make me laugh, cry or be on the edge of my seat with the suspense! I can't be bothered with a book that feels like a slog to get to the odd good bit, I'm looking for an easy to read, can't put it down masterpiece. So.......AIBU to ask for your literary recommendations?

Have you read The Goldfinch? Storytelling at its best.

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 19/11/2017 19:05

I really enjoyed The Green Mile, the book is far superior to the film.

A man called Ove for easy to read.

I'm a fan of Sarah Waters book. Affinity is one of my favourites.

My name is Ove - best book I’ve read in a year.

Or Gentlemen and Players by Joanne Harris...in fact anything by Joanne Harris or Kate Atkinson.
I’m reading How to Stop Time by Matt Haig at the minute and that’s good too.

The Power by Naomi Aldeman. Absolutely brilliant book that I finished in a weekend.

Ylvamoon · 19/11/2017 19:41

Chasing Windmills by Catherine Ryan Hyde one of the best life/ love and relationship stories I have read.

Other great books by the author are "Ask him why" and "When I found you" ... although the subject matter is a bit heavier on these books.

"Kolymsky Heights" by Lionel Davidson: complete page-turner; a thriller with a great pace.

Rubbermaid · 19/11/2017 20:00

I love all of Liane Moriarty’s books
