I am making a costume for DS. I need some fur so I bought a teddy in a charity shop....but now I feel creeped out a little ?

You should never destroy anything with a face.

(I had to make an exception for a doll I once won in a raffle, it was the creepiest thing you've ever seen, DD dubbed it 'The cursed doll'. But I 'regifted' it rather than actually murdering redesigning it)

elephantoverthehill · 16/11/2017 23:30

It's not being destroyed, it's being reincarnated.

IamAporcupine · 16/11/2017 23:30

elephantoverthehill no, just a birthday party! but now you say that, I will tell DS to pick lion for the nativity play (if there is one)

Can you perhaps wrap it in a scarf first so when the fur acquiring deed is done to transform teddy to lion, it is more like a caterpillar graduating to butterfly?

Poor teddy bear Sad
I had to wash DS Teddy Bear , I put him in a laundry bag, I told DS it was to stop any bits falling off but it was so that I didn't have to see his little Bear face smooshed up against the washing machine glass door.

I turned a (new) cheapie Barbie doll into a Vampire in a chocolate cake coffin. Involved removal of limb, hair, black pen round eyes.
No Guilt Felt.

Done.

When dh was a teacher he did mummifying teddies with his class as part of their ancient egypt topic. Grin

DukeOfBurgundy · 17/11/2017 06:15

Every year, my mum buys little teddies from charity shops, rips their guts stuffing out, fills them with catnip and then gives them to their cats for Christmas.

I do wonder how those poor teddies feel about it. Toy Story hasn't helped.

Clandestino · 17/11/2017 06:25

Can’t believe you murdered a teddy. He was sitting in the shop, patiently waiting to be loved again and now he was sadistically murdered. Your next thread will be about tearing little flies’ wings off, I just know that. Confused

'You should never destroy anything with a face'

Curse you Lindt bunnies!

MissWimpyDimple · 17/11/2017 06:53

NOOOO. SAVE THE TEDDY.

My DD would be mortified. It’s her aim to save every poor unwanted furry (toy) creature.

Murderer 😤

Dakiara · 17/11/2017 10:06

I've done the same, into a lion it went. Bear

For me it wasn't just cutting it up, but getting rid of all the evidence that got to me! Confused

Battleax · 17/11/2017 12:16

It's the shop's fault.

We must hold a proper funeral for the poor little thing's remains.
Who will do the eulogy?

Ah - Thought:
What have you done with the stuffing? I could knit a new little Teddy and we could have a reincarnation ceremony and fill my Teddy with the stuffing and then find him a good home where HE WILL BE LOVED AND CARED FOR.

Dakiara · 17/11/2017 14:59

New Teddy from all the bits eh? Sounds like a plan! :D

ToucanPlayAtThatGame · 17/11/2017 15:53

You monster! If I’m packing them in bags I keep their little heads out so they can breathe!

Bit mad I know.
Got it from me mother.

Oddmanout · 17/11/2017 15:59

Haha new toys from the bits made me think of Sid's toys from Toy Story (can't post a pic sorry)

IamAporcupine · 17/11/2017 20:00

Mountainpika I kept all the stuffing - happy to post it to you for a new reincarnated teddy!

Oh OP, how could you 😱 couldn’t you have just bought “fur”? I bought some for when I made a Superted costume a few years back, didn’t even cross my mind to hack the ears off a teddy 😂

Mrsyorkie · 17/11/2017 20:11

Have you ever seen Ted? He would make me think twice about skinning a teddy.

Mountainpika · 17/11/2017 22:06

You're on, Porcupine!

JakeBallardswife · 18/11/2017 23:31

Think of it this way. You’re letting the teddy be who it wants to be. Hear him roar!
