My neighbour constantly gets give my parcels whilst I'm at work.

I've never seen her but her children bring them to me or they answer the door when I go over. Today I counted three and a big old dog who tried to come home with me.

Shall I give them a Christmas present ?

If so what ?

I don't want to buy her wine incase she's an alki or her kids chocolate incase she doesn't let them have it. Or am I thinking to far into this.

I've never actually seen her so I don't know ... HELP!

Ahh bless her. Defo get her a present. Perhaps a poinseitta for Christmas? And give it to her this weekend?

Justbookedasummmerholiday · 15/11/2017 17:08

Tin of sweets and a Ponsietta?!

CakesRUs · 15/11/2017 17:10

Yes a pointsettia is a good idea, you could introduce yourself then.

Scentofwater · 15/11/2017 17:10

A big bunch of flowers? A pot of flowering bulbs?

I think a token gesture of some sort would be nice. Sort of a "sorry I've been a bother this year with all these parcels".

buzzbuzzbumblebee · 15/11/2017 17:11

I would just buy her a bunch of flowers as a thank you 😊

missnevermind · 15/11/2017 17:11

Mmmmm Tin of Roses and selection boxes for the kids.

Swizzlesticks23 · 15/11/2017 17:13

I've just looked out the window her garden is just plain and nothing in her windows like flowers or plants etc.

I'm really awkward and shy so I was hoping to chuck the present thank you/ x mas card at whoever answers the door and run back into my house LOL

I agree with a tin of chocolates. And a thank you/Christmas card

Swizzlesticks23 · 15/11/2017 17:16

Ok great I will go with chocolates.

I'll wait untill closer to Christmas as it's likely there will be more to come from now untill then.

Thanks everyone 🙂

Tin of roses/quality streets and a poinsettia is a good plan.

Pollaidh · 15/11/2017 17:22

I'd also say in the card that you've no idea why they keep going to her, but you're really grateful. I've had a neighbour actively list me at home (unasked) as the go-to person for all their bloody work correspondence.

Swizzlesticks23 · 15/11/2017 17:23

I hope she doesn't think I've done that I did worry about this

I'll just say

Hi.

Thanks for taking in all my parcels I really appreciate it. Not sure why they constantly come to you. Feel free to refuse if it's a bother.

Merry Christmas , enjoys the choice

From number **

Is that ok ?

Swizzlesticks23 · 15/11/2017 17:23

That meant to say chocs

Pancakeflipper · 15/11/2017 17:25

You are overthrowing it.. I'd be delighted you thought of me. I wouldn't care if was biccies/chocs or flowers

Nikephorus · 15/11/2017 17:35

Tin of biscuits - more likely to be something for everyone. And something for the dog!

SprinkleOfInsanity · 15/11/2017 17:39

Be careful if/when gifting poinsettia to people with pets, they are mildly toxic to animals and could cause vomiting and diarrhea, wouldn't be the best way to say thank you to end up with them cleaning up after a poorly pup Grin

Pollaidh · 15/11/2017 17:41

I think that sounds fine. I'd appreciate that if I was your neighbour.

ICanNeverThinkOfAGoodUsrname · 15/11/2017 17:46

I'm a big believer in it being about the gesture and thought rather than what it actually is so whether it's biscuits or chocolates or a plant and a card it really is about the sentiment behind it... And I think it's a very nice thing for you to do.

MaximaDeWit · 15/11/2017 17:48

I think some flowers (that don’t have to be look after and can be chucked when they die) and a nice biscuit selection tin thing would be a good “thank you”/“hello” gift.

VioletCharlotte · 15/11/2017 17:53

My lovely neighbour bought me a plant for taking in her parcels.

Lunenburg · 15/11/2017 18:00
