DP can be there as well, but I just think nothing could go wrong if Sir D was in there. I would just be sooooo calm. How much do you reckon he would charge?

read this to my mum and she spat out her tea followed by gales of laughter :D

Thanks mumsnet!

MrsMoastyToasty · 14/11/2017 21:21

I got my Davids mixed up and was actually thinking of David Bellamy "wrummaging about in the undergwoth".

Grimbles · 14/11/2017 21:26

Ooh, I'd have mark rylance narrating for my next birth.

Both have an equal chance of happening alas

WhatwouldAryado · 14/11/2017 21:31

Oh god. David Bellamy. I am crying with laughter now.

BarbarianMum · 14/11/2017 21:34

I used to want David Attenborough to be the father of my children .

Belleende · 14/11/2017 21:36

Rylance is out due to his turn in Bing. I have perhaps another week in hand, so a bit more time to get David. Anyone know the number for his agent?

Both DH and XH have met David Attenborough, and I can confirm that he is, indeed, God.

londonrach · 14/11/2017 21:55

My dad meet david attenborough in the 80s and got his autograph for my dsis and myself!!!!! (Not sure where it is think its in a box under the stairs). So can hear david voice during the birth. Perfect match

TheEmmaDilemma · 14/11/2017 22:12

Genius. This is pure genius!

LittleHearts · 14/11/2017 22:14

This thread is reminding me of Doc Brown's song Grandpa Dave!!

LittleHearts · 14/11/2017 22:21

Damn, I don't think that link has worked. It's worth Googling anyway.

MrsMoastyToasty · 14/11/2017 23:08

You wouldn't want Brian Blessed in the delivery suite. He's far too loud.

Fishface77 · 14/11/2017 23:16

Oh please please do this. And film it. And name your child whatever it is after him so David Attenborough (real surname at the end if you must).
Please please tweet him!

DangerousBeanz · 14/11/2017 23:20

I met him once. Never been so disappointed in anyone in my life, horrible rude man.

Angry

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 14/11/2017 23:25

I have a photo of XH with David Attenborough. He's an arachnologist and used to work at the Natural History Museum. David Attenborough was doing a book signing there and one of XH's colleagues had let him know. There's a photo of them in rapt conversation, which XH captioned, "Do you do amblipygids?" This is apparently what David Attenborough asked him. Am I the only one who thinks it sounds filthy? 😂

PidgeonSpray · 14/11/2017 23:25

I'm not sure that he would accept.... considering his views on over population !!!!!

Ohyesiam · 14/11/2017 23:26

I meet him once too, and he was delightful.

UnicornPug · 14/11/2017 23:31

Oh, I think if I was doing it again, I'd go for Derek Jacobi. I'd need him to narrate the whole thing in the same way as the start of night garden. Very soothing. "Put the gas and air down, squeeze that hand so tight! Push, push, push til your baby is in sight...."

IhaveapenIhavepineapple · 14/11/2017 23:35

Could be worse (better?)
You could have Brian Blessed

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 14/11/2017 23:35

😂

StripySocksAndDocs · 14/11/2017 23:37

Why the HELL did I not think of

IhaveapenIhavepineapple · 14/11/2017 23:38

Imagine that, Brian Blessed giving it "PUUUSH" then slipping into Bull character "THEY'RE DIGGING UP THE ROAD!"

robindeer · 14/11/2017 23:39

I simply refuse to accept that he's anything other than utterly charming and imbued with a warmth of spirit for all of his fellow creatures Dangerous.

Please do not shatter my world view in such a devastating way. I love Sir Dave.

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 14/11/2017 23:39

Sorry, that was at: Put the gas and air down...

StripySocksAndDocs · 14/11/2017 23:39

this first!!

I'm very jealous of you Belleende. Say hi to Dave from me.
