  • have decided to wear a lot more smudgy eyeliner (as per Cate as evil goddess Hela)
  • watch every other movie ever made by Taika Waititi (altho to be fair I've already seen a few)
  • to spend the rest of my days with an unhealthy and sexually charged obsession with Loki?

D) have got Immigrant Song hopelessly stuck in my head and am squealing “Aaaaaahhh-Aaahhhh Ahhhhhhhhh!” at random moment.

Honeybooboo123 · 10/11/2017 16:44

in a weird way I think TR really helped my mood. Have been very stressed lately, went to see that and I just decided to chill the fuck out.

Or, could just be that 90% of my cognitive function is now occupied with lustful thoughts of Loki.

Either way, all good!

I took DS. He was very unconvinced about whether this was the sort of film he’d like, and dragged his feet so much that we missed the start of the Star Wars trailer Sad.

Turns out that a) the problem was that the trailers he’d seen hadn’t trailed the presence of Big Spaceship Battles which are his favouritest thing evah b) Mummy knows best and is devoted to her baby’s interests especially when that involves her watching Hemsworth, Hiddleston, Goldblum and Ruffalo having the time of their life in assorted states of dress and undress

GrouchyKiwi · 10/11/2017 18:16

I'm going to see it tomorrow with DH. (We have babysitters!) I'm very excited. The Greater Hemsworth, Ruffalo, Goldblum, Cate the Magnificent and am directed by Taika Waititi. Glorious. Proud Kiwi moments.

When you're from a tiny country it completely feels like your country people's achievements are your own.

IAmBreakmasterCylinder · 10/11/2017 18:18

I'm going to see it for the second time tomorrow.

Do you know I'm so dense, I didn't even realise that was Cate Blanchett until the credits.

Love a bit ok Loki and there's the added bonus of Dr Strange!!

BestIsWest · 10/11/2017 18:18

It was great fun. There was not enough Cate Blanchett in it though. She looked amazing.

Honeybooboo123 · 10/11/2017 19:01

I’m just hoping Korg gets his own spin off movie!!! ‘Piss off ghost!’

Beamur · 10/11/2017 19:57

I want to see this now!

NamasteNiki · 10/11/2017 20:02

I dug my Led Zeppelin CDs out after it.

I want to be a Valkerie

Sugarcoma · 10/11/2017 20:19

Did love Korg “Bye new Doug!” - think I might watch that Shadows movie tonight!

YouTheCat · 10/11/2017 20:24

There are plans for a 'sequel' to From the Shadows. Grin

YouTheCat · 10/11/2017 20:26

Also I loved the Matt Damon cameo in Ragnarok.

MissCherryCakeyBun · 10/11/2017 20:30

We took family who were visiting from Rural Australia ( cousins husband had never been to the cinema Shock) to see Thor in 4D Cousin can out with major Thor Crush......Cousins Husband? Eyes like saucers and spoke of nothing else for days GrinGrinGrin

justilou1 · 11/11/2017 03:34

@Sugarcoma - I loved Korg too. "Another day.... Another Doug!"

justilou1 · 11/11/2017 03:35

@MissCherry - I'm from Australia. I find it very difficult to believe that anyone over the age of ten has never been to the cinema in Australia. I'm gobsmacked.

MissCherryCakeyBun · 11/11/2017 07:32

Justilou1 spent the largest part of his life on a Sheepstation a long way from anywhere.... first time he had ever been on a plane was to fly to the UK. Lovely bloke in his mid 50’s. TBH.... it’s not that strange in the uk to find older people ( over 30) who don’t go to the cinema.....I live with 3 men in there 70’s who haven’t been to the cinema in over 50 years!!! Last time FIL went was to take DH to see Bambi back in the mid 60’s

MrsDepp · 11/11/2017 07:43

Very much agree with you on the Loki thing.

Dammit, I have a really busy day and I feel I'm about to get very distracted by
The Ragnacock. Smile

Igneococcus · 11/11/2017 07:49

older people ( over 30) I'm 51, I must be truly ancient Grin

It's funny how people think of "older" people. i was born in 1966, I grew up with punk and glam rock and actually remember the first Star Wars movies a the cinema. I've had (and used) an email address since 1993 as I like to remind my children when they try to claim tech superiority over me.
Having lived for 5 years in Hamilton, NZ, home to the largest agricultural show of the Southern hemisphere I can totally believe that there are people in Aus/NZ who have never been to the cinema or drunk an espresso, though.

CrikeyPeg · 11/11/2017 08:22

I'm kiwi thru and thru yet somehow have managed to never see one of Taika Waititi's movies although I have giggled my way through one of the trailers a couple of times now - rock guy, paper sissors rock joke, revolution pamphlets Grin Think I will at the very least go see this one.
Igne I'm four years older than you (and have lived just out of Hamilton for over 10 years now), and had similar experiences growing up. Loved the glam and hair bands esp!

EricNorthmanIsMine · 11/11/2017 08:34

Honeybooboo123 may I suggest a watch of Avengers Assemble for Loki's "I said kneel" moment ... just for research purposes you understand Wink

Igneococcus · 11/11/2017 08:39

I lived in Hamilton from 1994 to the end of 1999 crikeypeg My pils live in Te Awamutu. I know the Waikato has a reputation for being a bit boring but I loved it, there were fab cafes (Metropolis, is that still there? and the Bossa Nova), lots of people doing stuff in bands and drama and art, Auckland close, I used to go to Rotorua and Taupo/Central Plateau all the time (worked on microbes in hot springs), the fabulous beach at Raglan not far away,....
You need to see Hunt for the Wilderpeople, it's great, the dc watched it so much that everybody in it feels like a part of the family.
