To quit my job because it is turning me into a mean person?

It's low pay, high stress, anti social hours and difficult situations and people.

I find I feel so angry when working but have to reign it in, then it all comes out later.

I want to quit immediately. I do actually have another job but it doesn't start until January.

Wibu to quit now?

I'm guessing a nurse , if so I'm in the same boat.

The other thing of course - leaving aside your MH for its own sake - you don’t want to be inflicting a worn-out frzazzle of you on your new job.

With thar in mind, I’ d caution against going completely structureless for the next 2 months, even if you don’t need to work financially - been there done that, and it can make the rigour of going back to work harder.

In a new role you won’t have many employment rights for two years and would get minimal money if made redundant. You may need your savings should that or other events happen.

I have experienced work related anxiety and depression, and still don’t think it’s always sensible to quit a job that’s detrimental to your MH, especially if your MH is OK and you “just” dread and dislike the current kob.

I have no employment rights anyway, it was a 0 hour contract on minimum wage lol.

I rang up today and said Sunday's my last day, I feel its the right decision.

Definitely.

My job has turned me into an anxious wreck... sadly I have to give a fair bit of notice (much longer than a month) and at the moment my anxiety/ thought of interviewing is preventing me from looking (better the devil you know)...

Good luck OPGrin

Good for you. I'm in the same boat, minimum wage job with unsocial hours, and dealing with fucking horrible people all night. It's making me into someone I don't like. I'll be out in the new year. Good luck Flowers

Good for you. Life's too short to be miserable.

Swizzlesticks23 · 08/11/2017 18:36

Good for you op

YAY OP!! Weldone! And a 0 hour contract?! Nahhh no time for that BS. You’ve done great, you don’t need to work somewhere that’s putting so much pressure on you mentally and emotionally so a big weldone! Good luck with the new job in Jan! Star
