To be annoyed that a colleague asked if I was less clever after having a baby

I've just gone back to work after maternity leave, in a very male-dominated company. One colleague said to me, 'do you feel less clever, now that you've had a baby. Does your brain work less well?'

I just said, 'nope, it's the same!' Stunned!!!!

Nope. Your IQ is clearly higher than the taunt that said that.

I have heard this tripe spouted by women “I left my brain in x maternity ward 21 years ago”

A colleague once warned me about baby brain telling me “just you wait”

It’s a rude and uncalled for comment. But plenty of women do go on about baby brain to excuse silly mistakes.

Baby brain is a myth ... hormones, discomfort, lack of sleep all cause lesser cognitive ability ...women suffer longer because of the tolls of pregnancy but any new father will also stop being the sharpest pick in the box. Tell him to fuck off and come back on broken sleep.
