To think losing break was harsh?

DS was late this morning because he found an injured bird. He took it to the school office, who called the RSPB who probably made pigeon pie Confused but for being late, he lost his break and will not be allowed to go on a school trip if it happens again.

Bit harsh since he was only trying to be nice, surely?

Some of the pp’s on this post are ridiculous ‘help teach them a lesson that they shouldn’t be late’, yeah okay - a draconian attitude if ever I saw one. I would much rather my child be kind and compassionate than a stickler for rules - the school IMO were completely out of order.

Also, I agree that primary school age children should not be punished for being late.

I think a much better life lesson is probably that rules sometimes can be broken.

This is stupidly harsh. I would probably talk to the school tbh.

SnowyBerries · 02/11/2017 09:09

Will you contact the school about this?

Didntcomeheretofuckspiders · 02/11/2017 09:29

Do these ‘you must stick to the rules at all times and you should be punished if you dare try to do something different’ people really exist in real life? I’m glad I don’t think I know many!

Ttbb · 02/11/2017 09:31

Given how young he is and that it was the first time a warning would have been more appropriate.

Trailedanderror · 02/11/2017 13:32

Slow clap for ChelleDawg2020 if that rule Is true it's stupid. And I'd happily take the wrap for breaking it.

SnowyBerries · 03/11/2017 13:24

Did you contact the school about this in the end?

bottlesandcans · 03/11/2017 19:44

He was late. He got punished.
He showed compassion to a bird- kind but not worthy of being 20 minutes late.
Reign in the violins.
