to think that only a selfish fuckwit lets their child have a full size drum kit in a terraced house?

My next door neighbours guitar playing kid did turn out to be a world famous rock star. Now on a world tour, gets played on radio 1, etc but I remember shouting at him out my bedroom window to turn the noise down when they decided to have an unannounced gig in the garden with Amps one evening when I was having friends over for dinner! Grin

We have various instruments including a drum kit and I've been very pleasantly surprised to find the drums are much less noisier than I expected.
They're definitely better than a beginner recorder player Grin

Oh, you’ve moved into our old house haven’t you? Brace yourself for the 4am reveille on xmas morning...

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 31/10/2017 18:43

Oh God, you're not in Cornwall are you?

Anatidae · 31/10/2017 18:51

Lived next door to and with talented pianists and that was a pleasure.

Drum kit? Not so much

DMCWelshCakes · 31/10/2017 18:52

We've got 2 drumkits and a load of other instruments as well as multiple amplifiers. Most of our friends are musicians & we frequently have band practices at our house.

This is why we live in a detached house with a sound proofed music room. Grin

Your neighbours need to be considerate about what time he practices and they need practice pads on the kit.

Standandwait · 31/10/2017 19:19

How old's the drummer? If his mum's a *&%^$ perhaps you can politely negotiate with him directly?

WankbadgeringTurdblossom · 31/10/2017 20:12

Why Vivienne, are you an unreasonable cheeky fucker with a drum kit? Grin Don't worry, we're not in Cornwall.

Their piano IS against the party wall, unfortunately. Luckily he's pretty good and doesn't practise scales for hours on end. CF neighbour herself does sometimes play it, as well, accompanied by Pink Floyd-esque wailing. Confused

I am, but I have no drum kit. My MIL and 15yo BIL on the other hand.....

WankbadgeringTurdblossom · 31/10/2017 21:07

Ah! Your MIL's neighbour and I could start a support group for survivors of musical noisy neighbours, Vivienne.

Neighbour boy is late teens and I get on well with him. He has a lot of shit to deal with, and music is the only positive thing in his life, really. I'd feel pretty bad complaining about it, tbh.

He plays electric guitar (not very well) which is a bit annoying, and keyboard synthey sort of thing, which I hardly hear, both in his bedroom, so they aren't so bad. The piano I quite like. It's the drums that drive me up the fucking wall.

Practice pads, Incy? What is this magic of which you speak?
