DS1 (12 ) comes to me this morning and says his head itches. See a live not, I check other kids and DS3 has a few eggs. I go to chemist and they give me and 8 hour lotion.

I can't put it on tonight as we have a little Halloween party going on till 9pm.

I don't really want to send them in tomorrow with them again so WIBU to keep them off tomorrow to treat it?

Mutt like I said I normally would have but I'm a single mum and I had to go straight from school to an appointment at the hospital I'd been waiting almost 2 months for. There's no way I could find someone to step in with 45 minutes to spare and I could not miss this appointment.

If it is just you at home with the kids handing out sweets at the door, just apply the stuff this afternoon when you get in. Finish earlier than 9pm so the kids can go to bed in time to get up early enough for combing/washing.
There is no way a day off school is justified for nits.

All these lotions and potions, 15 minutes or 8 hours, don't work on EVERYONE! Lucky lucky you if they do. My son was a dream to comb, my daughter had nits all the bloody time. If I saw one and it happened to be morning I would keep her off school so she was never the problem. They liked me too, only the combs worked and they cause the hair great trauma. I've sat for hours combing out and it's very tiresome. My youngest DS now has hair like my DD and I'm already dreading. i gunk his hair with wax so they won't come near, if I forget, he gets them. If anyone else has as much trouble as me, I feel yr pain.
