www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5028613/ISIS-extremists-threaten-attack-Prince-George.html

This is shocking (other more reliable papers are also carrying the same story). Horrible for the royal family to have to read this & also the other parents who have kids in Thomas's

OP posts:
reallybadidea · 29/10/2017 16:03

If ISIS were really able to do this then they would have done it already.

sanddune11 · 29/10/2017 16:04

Another reason we shouldn't gave a royal family, the cost of security for them too high. We don't need them.

LaughingLlama · 29/10/2017 16:05

Its sensational reporting. Intake it that its a given that ISIS would love to kill/kidnap any member of the royal family. In their eues - just how much more sensational would that be for them - if that royal was a small child.

mpsw · 29/10/2017 16:07

We'd have just as high costs if we were providing CP to an elected head of state (and their family, as is the norm in Europe and N America), not least as all former Presidents can have CP for life.

mpsw · 29/10/2017 16:08

"If ISIS were really able to do this then they would have done it already."

That assumes unchanging capabilities, and that might be an unwise assumption.

CanIBuffalo · 29/10/2017 16:08

They're terrorists. They spread terror. And the Dailt Fail is helping them. If they had a cat's chance of doing this they'd have done so by now but they can't so they do the next best thing and shout about it to spread fear. The very fact that they're resorting to shouting about it makes it less likely that it'll happen but it's all about the fear.

BertrandRussell · 29/10/2017 16:08

Better to be Prince George than a child in the target zone of British made armaments....

Undercoverbanana · 29/10/2017 16:09

The Daily Mail love a bit of sensationalist drama. Gets those Little Englanders all worked up and frothy. Off course the Royals are targets because the kudos would be huge for whoever successfully got them. So are politicians and other high profile types.

VivaLeBeaver · 29/10/2017 16:10

It is worrying. Yes all the royal family are targets when out and about but I think the difference here is there's one address which will remain the same for years. So plenty of time to scope it out and plan stuff. I know he has bodyguards but not sure a couple of coppers with handguns would be much use if someone gets some sort of automatic rifle.

Clandestino · 29/10/2017 16:11

He’s a target and has always been. He’s attending a school with children of other mighty, powerful and rich so the security there has to be tighter than cat’s arse anyway plus he’s always had security around him.
Why is any thread to him so surprising?

Clandestino · 29/10/2017 16:12

eh, threat. Bloody autocorrect.

Ta1kinPeece · 29/10/2017 16:12

This article is also featured in The Star, Express, Mirror,Metro and Standard amongst others
So no reputable sources then

He's more at risk from the boys in the year above than from Isis Grin

Ta1kinPeece · 29/10/2017 16:14

He’s attending a school with children of other mighty, powerful and rich so the security there has to be tighter than cat’s arse anyway

Some of the parents at the school will have fallen off their chairs laughing at that one

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 29/10/2017 16:19

It’s a bit crap being a royal?oh boofuckinhoo it is not crap.its indulged feted life
Privilege, travel, sychophantic fans, wealth, and security and huge assets
All paid for by citizens who had no choice in matter

Mittens1969 · 29/10/2017 16:19

Well he's considerably safer than children in Yemen getting blown up by British weaponry.

This 100%.

EddieHitler · 29/10/2017 16:22

Shows how big and brave they really are doesn't it, threatening a four year old.

2014newme · 29/10/2017 16:24

Yeah right cos the daily mail have the inside scoop

🙄

NameChanger22 · 29/10/2017 16:27

It might not even be true, since a lot of news isn't.

kaytee87 · 29/10/2017 16:29

Daesh won’t get anywhere near Prince George. I’m a bit of a royalist tbh but we’d be better focusing our attention on the hundreds of children killed by Daesh in other countries.

AuldHeathen · 29/10/2017 16:51

All those of you wanting to remove your (real or fictitious) children from that school, it’s probably now one the most secure school in London. Hmm

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 29/10/2017 16:56

The Royal family have much better protection than the children blown up at the Manchester arena.

lalalalyra · 29/10/2017 17:03

If ISIS were really able to do this then they would have done it already.

I think one of the reasons these stories come up all the time is because that's not right.

Right now as the new(ish) high profile pupil everyone is on high alert.

It's once everyone is settled and complacent that the risk is higher, when everyone around the school is used to the security and no-one bats an eyelid at it is more when he strange car/person hanging around etc could go under the radar is a bigger risk.

I think that's why the threat to everyone is brought up all the time - keep it fresh in people's minds.

HadronCollider · 29/10/2017 17:03

Sanddune11 what about all the tacky royal family memorabilia? All the teapots, t-shirts, plates etc? I would think that contributed a considerable amount? Then there's all the associated cultural stuff that feeds into the media etc. For eg, Netflix making quite a bit of income off a program based on the queen etc. (Not trying to make a case for the royal family, just trying to see if the argument about generating tourist money holds up. I've heard it soooo many times, I think it has to be true on some level).

Grottobags · 29/10/2017 17:04

Well he's considerably safer than children in Yemen getting blown up by British weaponry.

Absolutely this.

Ta1kinPeece · 29/10/2017 17:06

I know families with kids at the school
as I say, his biggest risk is the lads in year 3 Grin
the security is British understated but pretty effective ...
