AIBU Lidl

AIBU to not want to do a 25 minute (plus parking and Lidl time) round trip to Lidl just to buy a couple of steaks when they are for sale in big Tesco where I already am at the moment doing a large shop for £2.82 each?!

Lighthearted DH argument...I get the importance of saving and if I had more meat to buy I might but I've got lots to do and think this is false economy

kids can pick bread rolls in Waitrose too...

But OP, if you are talking steak surely your money situation is not so dire you need to spend an extra hour just to save a few pennies (on steak?! Though the lobster may be on offer too Wink)

Lidl rump steak is very good. Tesco steak has always been chewy here, but I stopped buying Tesco meat ages ago!

I get my weekly shop delivered from Tesco and buy no beef from them ever as it is always disappointing. Literally never had a good steak from there even when I’ve picked a ‘finest’ one. Lidl’s steak on the other hand....nom.

I'm not the best to ask. I only buy proper meat from the butcher or Costco - prefer lamb steaks to beef anyway - much more consistent and tasty. Beef steaks (Sirloin or Rib-eye for me) are about 3 ties the cost of nice lamb steaks.

How much are the steaks in Lidl?

buckeejit · 28/10/2017 18:06

They’re about £6 each iirc & much better than Tesco

Don’t pepper them before frying, salt only!
