Argh, it’s on one of my Mum groups on FaceBook.

Apparently it’s okay to trick or treat tonight etc if you can’t do Halloween for whatever reason on Tuesday Hmm

Wtf!

“I don’t mind at all if someone comes to me, wouldn’t want any littlen missin out cos they can’t do Tuesday”

“Think people are out of order to turn any kids away for the sake of some sweets, let em have some fun lol”

I’ve attached screenshots of the replies that aggravate me the most.

Since when did this country raise such entitled little so and sos?

Would you be okay answering the door when it isn’t Halloween night (31st)?

I just can’t get my head around it.

If you can’t do Tuesday night, as in really can’t do it Tuesday, then tough.

If it messes up routine, it’s just one night. If your child has an activity on, let them decide which they’d rather do.

I honestly cannot believe how entitled some grown adults are.

I don’t see how anyone could have the sheer balls to turn up for sweets on any other night than Halloween...

Bubble it’s half term here next week.

We’ll be out though, we go for dinner to avoid it all.

Incitatus · 28/10/2017 21:03

I hate halloween. I’m autistic and can just about cope with the postman and parcel man knocking. People in costumes also freak me out, I hate it. If anyone knocks on the door in the evening, I’ll just head straight upstairs and into the back bedroom.

Halloween seems to be a ‘thing’ now and it goes on for days and days. The shops are full of shite related to it and it’ll probably end up like bloody xmas with stuff being planned weeks ahead, decorations everywhere, presents being given and all that kind of thing. Some of the stuff they’ve put up in my workplace are like something out of a horror movie.

BlueButTrue · 28/10/2017 21:04

I wouldn't take my kids trick or treating on another day but completely understand the parents who do

So you understand this entitled behaviour? Please tell me more

Incitatus Argh, I hate the scary decorations.

I was walking down a section in Wilko last week and a big face made a shrieking sound and started an evil laugh. I shat myself, it was with all the more scary Halloween items and I felt very offish for a good few minutes afterwards

But why would people have sweets in the first place if it's not Halloween? What do you really expect them to give?

Incitatus · 28/10/2017 21:09

Blue some of the staff in Tesco were dressed up in costumes and had face paint on earlier this evening Sad

Incitatus · 28/10/2017 21:11

Ds2 says he’s going to post frozen green beans through the letterbox if anybody knocks. What sort of response that will elicit is anyone’s guess Confused

I love halloween! It's one of my favourites. Love a bit of ghoulish mystery. I am a left hander by the way and born during this time. So would probably have been burnt at a stake!

Yes I understand that they don’t have a choice, just never seen it in previous years. I suppose it’s just another money making thing just like everything else.

LinManWellWellWell · 28/10/2017 21:45

Halloween is one day only, and in my opinion that is 24hrs too long.

Willow2017 · 28/10/2017 22:50

Only 31st here. Nobody goes out on any other day!

Started putting up decs and carving punpkins tonight as working next 3 days Sad First time I will miss Halloween in years. Kids will have to do it on their own, sweets all ready.

Anyone who comes knocking before tuesday will get told where to go and come back Tuesday.

We have guisers here and they have to do a turn to get their sweets (usually bad jokes)

Incitatus I like the cutnof your son’s jib.

We’re an Aspie household. We go out for Halloween, as none of us are very fond of the stress of not knowing when the next knock will come, if it will be tiny tots or teens, if it will be giggles or eggs.

It’s sad though, as we quite enjoy seeing all the decorations. Walking home later in the evening seeing the pumpkins and so on is lovely, but it’s as close as we get to participating.

CheshireChat · 29/10/2017 01:41

I love, love, love Halloween, but I'm very glad there's no access to my house as my area isn't great. Would be a bit iffy to have to deal with people starting today.

I'm going to decorate my house to my heart's desire this year and we took the kid to a Halloween soft play party. He won best costume Wink.

Last year we simply couldn't afford loads of extra treats so just ignored the door so that can play a factor for people as well.

FixItUpChappie · 29/10/2017 02:27

I have never heard of nor encountered an early trick or treater. I think it's beyond socially weird and presumptuous. If a child came to my home early I'd politely turn them aware and give Hmm eyebrows to their adult.

sayyouwill · 30/10/2017 08:48

@BlueButTrue yup! Hypocritical bastards I’m joking, I love my parents very much
