to wish that people would use paragraphs and punctuation in their posts?

I am so tired of opening a thread with an interesting title and finding a block of largely unpunctuated text. Most of the time I don't bother reading it, although it depends on the subject.

Is there some practical reason why people aren't using punctuation and paragraphs?

I find that I tend to lose the paragraph breaks when I use the app for some reason. I do find it frustrating.

Noooooo, Lying- don't send these smugsters to PC. This sort of thing is not at all what we discuss over there and they'd soon get their arse handed to them. In paragraphs. Grin

Nobody prefers, or loves, a wall of text. Obviously. Not everyone is twattish enough to have to start a thread about it. Because most people would open a post like that, and yes, sure, judge quietly that maybe the OP is a) on a phone b) doesn't have the greatest command of English c) is upset and not in the right place to be thinking about paragraph spacings.

Sometimes on the app I put the paragraphs in but they don't seem to show up.

I agree it makes it tricky to read on a phone with a smaller screen.

Mind you, I gave up with Ulysses as well....

I do think it's the height of twattishness when the op is clearly in a state of some distress to post 'I didn't read that because of the lack of paragraphs'.... Which is something Ive seen a few times.

Perfume, don't worry, I'm just not that powerful and they won't go anyway. There's not the audience there for them and they'd be out-SPAG'd... I nip in myself sometimes to see if anybody has posted one of the knottier problems I struggle with. Seems quite pleasant there. Grin

To the OP:

I wince when I see 'of' instead of 'have' but I get over it. I'd never point it out to anybody. I've been known to use a paper ruler down the laptop screen if it's a big bank of text but I don't comment. I lose whole words from my posts sometimes. I mix up words too. English is my first language but that doesn't mean I'm any good at it.

I just think that if you want to understand the gist of somebody's post, you will. If you can't then perhaps work on your comprehension. If you can't do that then just restrain yourself from posting. Nobody will mind.

I've seen that too, Clash and I'm sure others have too, which is why the OPs get pulled up.
