Christmas present for new bf

Morning, everyone.

Long time lurker first time poster

Been with my boyfriend for 3 months, relationship is just fabulous, actually moved together.

Question: what do I get him for Christmas? What should the budget be? Around £100? I don’t want to over spend and look ridiculous. He is a software developer however I don’t think it should be something related to IT/technology as he has every single gadget he could.

Ideas, please? Smile

AlternativeTentacle Confused

I don't think he gives a shit if the author is male or female tbh. He just likes good sci-fi.

He says there are quite a few female authors in The Robot and AI Chronicles and the Honor Harrington series is about (shock, horror) Honor Harrington who is female... Does that make you feel better? Actually don't even bother answering, some people just want an issue don't they and I can't be arsed.

LeekyGeeky suggest Ian Irvine to your husband. And yes AlternativeTentacle, another man

Isadora2007 · 28/10/2017 18:21

Definitely discuss budgets first and then think about something he is particularly into or that means something for you both.
Enjoy your first christmas together. 🎅🏻

@LeekyGeeky 😄😄
Makes it easier buying for them!!
My DH also likes David Mitchell (not the one from Peep Show and Would I Lie to You, the author of the same name) and Stephen King. I don't usualy know authors off the top of my head but I did have @AlternativeTentacle's conversation with him one day and be pointed out all the very numerous female authors among his collection and thought I was very strange for not realising how excellent the quality of female and male writing is in sci-fi and dystopia. OP, I know that when my DH first read Handmaid's Tale it basically wrinkled his brain, so much so when it came out on Netflix he bought his dad a copy just randomly because it's so creepy/good (not sexist, his DM doesn't really read).
