Maybe get a multivitamin/mineral supplement. That can help with your appetite until you're happier with your weight. Eating well too. Maybe steak is in order for you now and then.

catbas · 27/10/2017 22:40

I'm a pound or two over, and the same height - I am extremely small built and have been told by a consultant that it is fine because of my frame. BMI is a load of shite if you're small framed

Passmethecrisps · 27/10/2017 22:41

I think you will feel awful and therefore look awful in your eyes because it wasn’t a natural and healthy weight loss. I have been 7st 7 at 5ft 2 and people used to ask my friends if I was struggling with an eating disorder. I was lethargic and frequently unwell. I probably wasn’t eating enough and, for me, that weight wasn’t ok. Maybe if I had been engaging in healthy pursuits and the weight was a big product it would have been.

Lots of vitamins and big healthy meals for you now. How are you feeling now?

catbas · 27/10/2017 22:44

And if I was in the higher end of normal weight by BMI I would be extremely obese. Others perhaps not so much

catbas · 27/10/2017 22:46

Ah just saw the update it wasn't loading, if you feel like you look awful then go with how you feel, especially if you're not particularly small framed as I do agree a lot of people do look too slim at my weight and height just because their frames are different to mine

ZepellinBend · 27/10/2017 22:49

I lost some weight lately and had mums on the school run asking 'my secret' and telling me I looked great. I've always been skinny anyway but to me it's too much and I look skeletal. I've had reflux problems for years but had a bad flare up hence the weight loss.

If you're not happy with it, as I am not, who cares what people think? Put on the weight that you feel comfortable and healthy at.

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 27/10/2017 22:51

Got married at 26 size 6 7 stone now very old size 10 probably 9 stone, don't care tbh.

Sienna333 · 27/10/2017 22:55

I think I look my best at just under 8 stone. I was ok with my body before but feel like I look horrible now especially hips and legs. I thought I looked healthier/better before so am quite shocked at the positive comments as the way I look now is a product of 3 weeks of eating next to nothing

It will come back on. My syster is 5'4 and was 6.5 for a long time after she was ill.

RosyPony · 27/10/2017 23:08

18.24 BMI. I’m considerably taller and had a similar BMI, perfectly healthy just slightly outside of the normal range. It depends on the context a bit too.

ZepellinBend · 27/10/2017 23:15

It's weird isn't it? I'm taller than you so heavier but skimming the underweight bmi, although I think bmi is nonsense anyway. I was a bit Hmm at people (all women) thinking that looked better. There's something there about society and body image I can't put my finger on having had two glasses of wine Grin

Sienna333 · 27/10/2017 23:19

It is weird because my legs look horribly thin and as do my hips and arms. It saddens me I never got complimented before when I was 8 stone but do now

It's nothing to feel sad about really.

Different people have different opinions on what they think looks good, that's all. You only have to read a thread about fashion or a celebrity's new hairstyle to see how opinions vary.

If you lost it through being ill, then hopefully it won't be long until you put it back on again and feel happier in yourself.

hiddley · 27/10/2017 23:32

I've quite a rotund face, so being slim suits my face, if I put on a lot of weight I look like an oompa loompa. You may have similar features so it suits your face?

VerticalBlinds · 28/10/2017 12:15

Society approving thinness especially when due to illness is a concern - there was the story recently about the anorexic teen who got approached by two different model agencies at a music festival.

On whether it's "healthy" or not - that depends on the person and their build and stuff.

I hope you get better soon and put some weight back on Smile

HungerOfThePine · 28/10/2017 12:23

It wouldnt look healthy on me at 5ft 3 I am slim at around 8stone plus a few pounds but could imagine it would look healthy on others. It's how you carry weight and body shape/frame.
