My son came home with a red swollen dog bite wound on his arm yesterday. He is the third person to be bitten since the boss started bringing his dog to work. There is another dog also in the office which is no problem. The boss is apologetic, but dog still roams freely. The problem is that the people in the office are nervous of upsetting the boss and riskng their jobs by making too much fuss. Any suggestions? Caninicide ( if that word exists) is not an option

If he has broken skin I think he's meant to get a tetanus shot? (Although if he's had one in the last few years it should cover him) I would report the dog to the police (and obviously by the dog I mean the owner). If your son gets made redundant as a result he can sue. (He could probably get a no win no fee solicitor on the job now if he really wanted, but he might never work in that field again!)

I walk a "known biter" and he is never allowed off lead and is muzzled when around his "trigger population". He had the snip after he bit someone and has chilled out a bit since, but he is on his very last chance and if he bit another person he would be put down.

I hate to say it as I am one of those people who will always find a reason BUT three times for a dog to bite in one environment is twice too many i'm afraid. The boss is risking a lot of bother; the law changed last year & now any aggression - even deemed aggression - from a dog can land it & the owner in a lot of hot water.

It needs raising & it needs raising now. There will be a reason the dog has felt the need to bite, but that is down to the owner to suss out & in the mean time he should not be putting anybody else at risk.

My ex boss's dog once got an ASBO from work & was banned for 3 months 😂

I love the asbo idea. I am definitely going to suggest that to my son tonight

I'm outraged at the idea that anyone can take their pet to the office! What if someone is allergic?

Apart from that, a dog that bites has no place in an office, or anywhere else for that matter, without being on a short leash and wearing a muzzle. Any responsible owner should know that.
