To think this is unreasonable?

Neighbours of ours, who rarely acknowledge us, have sent us a letter requesting we give a donation of £250 to their son who is raising money to go on a school rugby tour of South Africa.

The parents are both professional people who earn good salaries in the public sector.

I must confess to feeling shocked and amazed at their cheek. I feel inclined to chuck their letter in the bin and forget all about it.
Would this be unreasonable?

I'd probably suggest that if they can't afford their sons holiday, they perhaps need to stick to Cleethorpes.

Let's see this letter then

Definitely the bin. No need for an explanation. If they ask about it, say you assumed it was a spam begging letter, so ignored it.

That’s awesome. That’s world class cheekiness. Grin

If they’ve asked all the neighbours they’ll be the talk of the washhouse for the next 20 years.

Outstanding! Grin

(And I’d ignore btw)

It's obvious you've somehow slipped into the Twilight Zone. I would go knock on their door and laugh in their face while tearing their letter into tiny pieces, dropping them on their doorstep and walking away still laughing. They just may get the hint.

Fucking outrageous.

You want proof?

What a bloody cheek!
