Took DC to the country park today, and while waiting for a space in the carpark, noticed another mum packing up. Before folding her buggy into the boot, she pulled out a scrubbing brush and scrubbed each wheel! She then replaced it into its plastic baggie cover, popped it into the bottom of the buggy and happily loaded it - mud free! - into her boot.

Am now eyeing my own grubby-wheeled buggy with a new perspective entirely!

Ah well, it matches the grubby, muddy dog....

I am totally lazy when it comes to keeping my car clean and relatively tidy. There is always stuff in it, the boot currently has three folded down rescue boxes (for birds/small wildlife), an old booster seat that we don't need but am reluctant to throw away 'just in case' and a few carrier bags.

If it wasn't for DP washing and hovering the cars and van, they wouldn't get done. I do enough cleaning inside the house.

Just as an aside, at our local beach they have a dog shower. It's bloody brilliant (although I don't have a dog, I like watching other people put their dogs in it). Literally a huge Perspex box with enough space for two dogs, shower attachment and then buttons to press for water, shampoo, conditioner, even flea stuff! Then blow dry. Perfect for sandy dogs.

I have never worried about pushchair wheels or hoovered the boot of a car or worn or owned a shower cap.

We have a washing basket in our boot, where all the filthy stuff goes. I let them get absolutely rotten at forests and beaches and the like - but when we get to the car I clean everyone off and put anything really filthy in the basket. We also take wellies to farms etc in an empty box and clean socks to wear on the way home. I have been known to put water with a tiny bit of detergent in an empty laundry liquid bottle to rinse off wellies on the way home. I let the kids be wild and free and get muddy and be normal, I’m not previous anout dort or their clothes - just don’t really want it to go all over the car and be traipsed through the hallway as soon as we get in. I can’t stand going to outdoorsy places and watching parents get cross with their kids for getting dirty, but yeah I do my best to de-mud them once we’re done.

ooo shower caps for buggy wheels. My DB’s partner is pregnant, due in Feb, and he’s bloody OCD about dirt & his cars so I think I’ll get some to put in the welcome box!!! 👍👍

Am I the only miserable cow that would be pissed off if I was waiting for a parking space and some tosser was cleaning her buggy wheels before she put it in the car! Get in the car and piss off so I can have your space!

There's a big asda near me which does a full valet service (including interior) for around £17. I just do that. Mind you, I don't think my buggy wheels ever get that dirty.

We keep a black bag in the car to put under the buggy when it gets really bad. The only other thing I do to keep the car vaguely clean is keep the DC's wellies in a carrier bag when they're filthy. I discovered that it's possible to sit a child in the boot, place wellied foot inside carrier bag & remove welly from foot without getting my hands dirty. Putting the middle seat down means the child can crawl through to their seat without shoes on & without needing to be carried. Apparently it's hilarious to run the metre from the car to the front door while barefoot!

I have a plastic car boot liner. It was dirt cheap ,anyway my boot isn't dirty and I can just shake dry mud off the liner now and again. No faffing about and boot isn't dirty or in need of hoovering.

Haha! I had 2 dogs as well as 3 dc under 5, my car is just called "the skip". Give not a fuck!
