Please help! I can't kill it, I've been hitting it with a copy of Time Out and the bastard thing won't die. What is it? My parrot is going nuts!

Hairspray also kills them if you have no insect killer handy.

it's probably just a sawfly, if it doesn't have a 'wasp waist' .... harmless. Don't need to kill it, just put it outside.

It looks like a wood wasp or Ichneumon fly. Its harmless, chuck it outdoors.

I put it out of the window in the end; it was still walking and buzzing around.
