I’m reading Nigel Slater’s The Christmas Chronicles at the mo - def a dip in and out book. Recipes and lots of mumbling. It’s just lovely.

Oooh so many to recommend!!

The Wrong Knickers by Bryony Gordon is quite good - really funny. And We'll always have Paris by Emma Beddington is good too! Both are memoirs.

The Jeeves and Wooster books are amazing too - they'll have you laughing in no time!

The vanishing Act of Esme Lennox by Maggie O Farrell. Great Read. I f you have not done them yet The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series. The latter not for the fainthearted .

Anything by Lianne moriarty. I raced through everything she has written within a few months. Am now in mourning.

I've just started a book called Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. It's had amazing reviews on Goodreads and Amazon. Usually I don't choose a book based on reviews but I liked the premise in the blurb and I'm enjoying it so far.

I can also highly recommend the Mercy Thompson series for something slightly supernatural, Bill Bryson's travel books for some hilarious anecdotes and the Outlander series for a spot of historical fiction.

Yes, to the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, fab read.

If you like supernatural stuff then there's a series called the Keeper Chronicles, by a north east author. They're available on kindle if you can't get them mail order. Author is Michelle Birbeck. They're more young adult and not as chunky a read as the Dragon Tattoo ones.

I love the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child for mindless entertainment.

I read a great series of time travelling books by Kage Baker. The Company series.

Also loved Robin Hobbs Assassin Series which is fantasy with dragons in.

I'm reading 'the girl with all the gifts ' at the moment. I'm loving it

Sapiens by Noah Harari.

OMG I'm reading an amazing book at the moment on my kindle it's like 28 days later but in a book. Can't think of the name but I'll find out! If you like that sort of thing this is brilliant I struggle to put it down.

11.22.63 by Stephen King is a real page-turner.

Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine is a read in one day kinda book.

Strange little book. Genuinely sad ending.

Found it! It's called "all the little children" by Jo Furniss

I'd strongly recommend Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier - the first book that terrified and enthralled me all at once.

I loved The Holding by Graham Norton (about as deep as a puddle but very enjoyable)

Also favourites; yes to Claire mackintosh but her first was better than her second. Ditto Jesse Burton (miniaturist was awesome, muse was 'meh'). 'Into the darkest corner' is another unforgettable can't put down book.
