To confuse my slipper boots with our cat?

To put in context, I emerged from the shower tonight a bit bleary eyed and said a cheerful hello to my slipper boots (ugh horrible term but I don't know what else to call them) because I mistook them for the cat, who sits in a similar static staring stance for no reason in random places.

Is it just me - anyone else do things like this?

I have a black cat. Both myself and DH have mistaken boots, bags, slippers, dressing gowns and lots more for him. It's pretty much a daily occurrence.

JustDanceAddict omg- this is why there should be a crying with laughter emoji on here

I have a bright orange and white cat who chatters to herself and is fairly umistakeable. Unfortunately this only increases the disgruntlement of the brown tabby, who I frequently mistake for my scarf....

So it's because they are usually static! Always sleeping or sitting staring at a wall close up.
Anything 30cm across dark coloured we assume is her for a split second.
Thank you you've all made me laugh Grin

Loving these!

One of my cats is mostly black. I thought he was under my chair once, but it was my own black-sock-clad foot I'd spotted.
