I've just gone to make a cup of tea and realised that it means opening a new 4 pinter of milk.
I was unreasonably pissed off at this.

The cap hurts my hand and I hate pulling of the stupid, silver seal then having to throw it away. Angry

I have no idea why this upsets me so much but it made me realise that I although I will do it. I am stupidly annoyed every time I have to and if that if I can find a way to get dh to do it, without actually telling him about my unreasonable dislike of the task, I will.

It made me wonder... is anyone else pissed off by anything as ridiculously small and insignificant, or am I alone in my unreasonableness?

I hate it when you're ready to go to bed but think "oh I better feed the cats" go feed them and realise the tumble drier has finished, so take clothes out and fold them. Take wet clothes out of washer and put drier on. Then realise you forgot to put the bins out/make packed lunches/whatever. Then take dry clothes upstairs, put away and finally get in bed, so realise you forgot to lock the door.
It's not just bedtime either. I'll start doing something that always leads to something, that leads to something else. So I'll, for example, want to put a few papers away...and end up cleaning the cooker!? How does that happen?

StilettosAreANoNo · 21/10/2017 07:30

All of these! I’m feeling irritated reading this Grin

I hate things that have to be done again like when you empty the dishwasher and something is still not clean. Or sometimes my dishwasher welds a film of gritty stuff to the glasses and it has to be scrubbed off.

And predictive text on my phone. It keeps changing what I’m saying and I end up in a battle of wills with the damn thing.

Anything that’s difficult to open. Yes to milk, but also cartons of fruit juice or jars that are too tight. It feels like the world is against you.

I hate washing up cat food bowls too. Especially when it’s hot and they go manky really quickly. Embarrassingly I solved that problem in the summer and bought a big pack of disposable bowls. The cats looked Hmm about it but it made life for me happier.

Burberry

Dear. I see

WhatwouldAryado · 21/10/2017 07:42

Burberryblue perhaps you should think about your reasons for such unchecked
rage? And rather nasty turn of phrase? What harm does someone else's trivial thoughts do to you?

GallicosCats · 21/10/2017 07:44

Posters like Burberry are the reason we could really do with an Ignore button.

Carry on.

StilettosAreANoNo · 21/10/2017 07:46

Grin @ Burberry Whatever

Unpacking a big shop pisses me off.

Ifailed · 21/10/2017 07:49

trying to get the dispenser on a new bottle of liquid soap to exactly 90 degrees. I have thrown out brand new bottles in my anger/despair.

shakingmyhead1 · 21/10/2017 07:49

i hate the milk thing too..... now i just stab it with a knife... life is good again

WomblingThree · 21/10/2017 07:49

Oh god @Bahhhhhumbug yes!! I had an absolute tantrum the other day, screeching “why can’t I ever just DO anything”. I was trying to sort something out to post, and I’d got up and down about 20 times.

DanHumphreyIsA · 21/10/2017 07:49

What does being annoyed have to with being a woman and equality burberry ? Hmm

Hassled · 21/10/2017 07:52

Disposable bowls for cat food - now that is a revelation. That might be the future - as long as I can keep pretending it'd be environmentally OK.

I hate putting washing away. I'm fine about the washing, the drying, the folding, the ironing, the identification of boxer shorts (DH, teenage DSs, all the same size and shape) but putting it away defeats me. You have to go all the way upstairs and then you have to find space and coat hangers and god I hate it.

bluebells1 · 21/10/2017 07:55

The Whiskers!!! How could I miss that one???!! Ugh cleaning up behind the tap after a monday morning shave by mr bluebells.

Pithivier · 21/10/2017 07:57

Yes to the silver seal milk think, I have arthritus and find it impossible to get it off. We are stabbers here too. Otherwise it just comes too fast. As to being pathetic, I find it very reassuring that my foibles are shared by others.

Pearlsaringer · 21/10/2017 07:59

Closing the sitting room curtains, DH never bothers so it’s always me. We bought heavy full length tab top curtains when we moved in as a stop gap twenty five years ago. They drag on the curtain poles every time. I hate them with a passion.

Tuna. Opening a can of tuna.

Trying to drain the bastard fish water into the sink and the lid inevitably flicks down and you get squirted with bastard fish water. Gives me indescribable rage!

I should just buy no drain tuna for my own sanity, but I'm too tight to pay the extra! 😂

CoffeeBreakIn5 · 21/10/2017 08:06

Yes the milk thing! I hate it, DH doesn’t really drink milk and I’m the only one in the house who has skimmed so it’s always up to me.

I hate hoovering - our hoover is bagless, usually when I decide to hoover it’s a ‘quick go round’ but that never works out because we empty the damn thing before we hoover. So I have to battle with emptying it first, then put it back together to hoover and it takes me ages.

Cleaning the filter on the dishwasher, all that squidgy crap. It makes me feel sick.

Pulling the bin bag out of the bin, it always rips on the side of the bin and crap goes everywhere.

Lots of things irritate me!

CheckpointCharlie2 · 21/10/2017 08:06

DoJo your box drama reminded me of when dd (who was about 5 at the time) pulled the mother of all bogies from her nose so we decided it should be given to DH as a present, presented it on tissue paper and put into a ring box. Grin

I get the rage when DH hangs tea towels in the door handle/rung bit of the grill rather than the main oven as they obscure the door and fall into the oven when you open it. I am v childish and pull them out and leave them in the floor to make a point, not grown up I know.

StilettosAreANoNo · 21/10/2017 08:08

Euphemia Just wondering, some of those shrink wrap type tablets go in the dishwasher whole and the wrapper dissolves.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/10/2017 08:10

cleaning the thing in the sink that catches all the bits...the one DH thinks is self-cleaning.

My DH thinks this is self-cleaning, too - and he is a Man, and therefore Knows All About Machinery etc.

I also hate all of the above plus many, many more i.e. everything (joins Tigers in Slatterns' Corner, where they open some wine and drink it straight from the bottle to avoid dirtying a glass . . . )

Hippadippadation · 21/10/2017 08:12

I hate taking the top off my water bottle to refill it. It's got a sticky out bit and hurts my hand!
