I've just gone to make a cup of tea and realised that it means opening a new 4 pinter of milk.
I was unreasonably pissed off at this.

The cap hurts my hand and I hate pulling of the stupid, silver seal then having to throw it away. Angry

I have no idea why this upsets me so much but it made me realise that I although I will do it. I am stupidly annoyed every time I have to and if that if I can find a way to get dh to do it, without actually telling him about my unreasonable dislike of the task, I will.

It made me wonder... is anyone else pissed off by anything as ridiculously small and insignificant, or am I alone in my unreasonableness?

Akin to the milk top hurting my hands, opening letters does the same. Think I might get a letter opener, but I’ve not seen one for about 30 years. It could be my Christmas present!

WoollyMollyMonkey · 22/10/2017 22:06

What about checking tyre pressures then? I hate doing that! Get your hands all dirty and trying to press the air thing on the valve without letting all the air out ... well just aarrgghhhh!

WoollyMollyMonkey · 22/10/2017 22:08

3out try a knife with a pointy end. Don't cut yourself though!

WoollyMollyMonkey Weirdly, I don't mind checking tyre pressures. I'd rather do that than put bins out, empty dishwasher/dryer etc.

3out · 22/10/2017 22:24

Woolly, I think my inner 85yr old wants a letter opener. Maybe it’s time for a sausage dog draught excluder too?

guestofclanmackenzie · 22/10/2017 22:32

Pulling out the bin bag on an overflowing bin. We've got one of those tall pedal bins and it compresses the rubbish in it so tightly, when it's time to pull out the bin bag, you're like Thor trying to pull out his sword!

And cleaning out the spit/toothpaste gunk out of the toothbrush holder. Also cleaning the gunk from the little white base of the electric toothbrush.

eulmh · 22/10/2017 22:54

IM with you op! The milk top. I actually open mine before I’m ready as I know at 5am when my daughter wants her milk I’m not gonna care for things like opening the foil!

DobbyLovesSocks · 22/10/2017 22:57

This thread has had me howling with laughter. So much so my husband has thrown me a couple of [hmmm] looks lol

The milk thing doesn't bother me, strangely I get quite excited knowing the milk is fresh
What does give me the rage is hoovering and then putting the damn thing away and finding a bit you missed Angry
I also get the rage with clothes on airers but only if it isn't me who has done it. Hubby tends to chuck the clothes on any old way and then wonders why our clothes a still damp two bloody days later. Err here's an idea why don't you separate and layer the clothes out properly or better still LEAVE IT TO ME!!!! I use those little rotary peg things for socks. One peg per sock. Any odds go in a bag and once a week my 7 year old goes through them and finds matching pairs, he gets a penny a pair but the poor sod never earns more then 10p. I swear either my washing machine or tumble dryer eats socks (or maybe that's where the fluff in the filters comes from, bloody odd socks that disintegrate in the pissing dryer??)
We tend to split the household chores (I Hoover, sort wet washing and dishwasher; he irons, sorts bins and does most of the cooking)
Cling film used to give me the rage but only because rather than use the cardboard box hubby would take the roll out of the box, wrap his food and then use sharp knife to cut and leave both roll and box on counter (I'll put the bastard thing away then shall I?). Hubby returned home from a shopping trip last week with one of those fancy plastic cling film boxes with special cutty thing. Best invention ever!!!
I've yet to train my hubby to put dirty dishes in the dishwasher - no they get left in the sink or on the bench directly above the dishwasher

maceyuk · 22/10/2017 23:03

Dirty dishes left by DH on the counter above the dishwasher.

Cereal bowl left in sink by DH with leftover soggy coco pops that I have to fish out the sink.

Taking the bin bag out which has been overfilled, usually with coffee grounds on the top, trying my best to not spill any rubbish on the floor.

Changing the toilet roll! Usually finding a new one already nicely placed on top of toilet by lazy DH.

Cereal packet left on counter top! Or worse...empty one put back in cupboard ...WTAF?

And the worst for me....empty coat hangers in DH’s wardrobe, after he pulls his clothes off the coat hanger each morning grrr.

I could go on but I’d just depress myself even more!

WoollyMollyMonkey · 22/10/2017 23:05

thenightsky I wish you'd do mine for me then! I am still blushing about my last effort. It was getting dark and I couldn't see the dial properly but thought once I got it on the valve and press for the air a light might come on. Anyway tried and tried but the stupid thing kept hissing air out and eventually I gave up as I was scared I was going to end up with a flat tyre! So drove down to Kwik Fit to ask them to do it for me. Anyway, a bit later on it dawned on me I hadn't pressed the big green Button on the machine to start it up! No wonder no air was going in! Oops!

3out I have a snake draught excluder - his name is snakey. Are you jealous?! Haha!

BertieBotts · 22/10/2017 23:10

I am standing here sniggering at this thread and not going to bed.

You are all perfectly sane or perhaps I share your miniature rage disorder :o

My grandma used to stab the milk top to prevent having to peel it. Worked quite well. Big hole at the front, small one at the back to let the air back out.

browneyes77 · 22/10/2017 23:19

AtSea1979. Emptying the bins or putting the bins of for the bin men. Why do I have to go and get the back door key, go get my shoes, tie the handles, go out in to the cold, rain whatever. Then comes back in, have to put my shoes and the key away. Have to go wash my hands because I've touched the bin. Have to put the new liner in. Life's too short for this shit

THIS ^ Thank god, I thought it was just me! Grin

I also HATE ironing. So therefore I only iron things when they need to be worn. I just cannot be arsed standing there for an hour ironing shit. No point me ironing them anyway just to put them in the wardrobe to get creased against the other clothes squashed in there (sick of having clear outs!).

Changing the duvet/bed. I actually break out into a full on sweat changing the bed. It’s just too much hard work.

If I ever win the lottery I’m employing a cleaner, because this housework malarkey is just too feckin exhausting!

manicmij · 22/10/2017 23:22

Open sock and hang by pegging on one side of heel opening. They hang beautifully

reiki73 · 22/10/2017 23:45

I fucking hate ironing so much I haven't ironed in years! This will have to stop next September though when my daughter starts school, as I can't have her going to school with crumpled clothes because I'm lazy!

kateandme · 23/10/2017 00:54

Yes to the milk lid!to the cheese suffers.Wyle farm reseals itself...genious.
Wen they push down the rubbish so it means the bags comes away from the edges causing crap to escape onto the outer bin.why.not.just.empty.it...

RenoSusan · 23/10/2017 03:41

Spider webs drive me mad. Those guys wait for me to go to another room and then leave one that wafts about. I spray and spray and still find more.
I thought I was the only one who hated the bathroom toilet paper holder. I live alone so i put one on the roller and then don't use it. Set another one on the cabinet and that is what I use. The longest is almost a year until someone stayed with me. Found a new kind of paper holder at Amazon. Just move the new roll up and the tube comes out and the new one is hooked up. No removing things with criminal springs. Best feature is that it isn't expensive. Thank you everyone who posted-I love you all!

user1497366382 · 23/10/2017 07:53

Keep a pair of pliers in the kitchen and use them - decent adjustable plumbers ones are easiest.

Delilah21D00LoT · 23/10/2017 08:06

Brand new Cereal boxes - my DH and DC's leave them looking like they've been ripped open by Tigers! They seem to find it terribly difficult to open them without shredding the box.
They're always seem so surprised when u show them how easy it is and then continue to rip the boxes!

BitOutOfPractice · 23/10/2017 09:55

Getting ice cubes out of an ice cube tray is the most annoying thing ever. At least that job always can involve bashing the bastard thing on the work surface to release some of the rage

Maireadplastic · 23/10/2017 10:12

Bit- get those rubbery ice trays. A joy compared to solid ones.

MyCatMyRules · 23/10/2017 10:25

I love hanging washing out on the line on a nice day. Getting it back in however makes me almost incandescent with rage.

Another one here who's drunk black tea rather than open a new bottle of milk. I've also drunk water rather than wrestle with an unopened frigging carton of orange juice.

I do find emptying the cat's litter tray strangely satisfying though Grin

WaxOnFeckOff · 23/10/2017 10:25

I have an ice tray fitted into my freezer that I just need to turn a handle and all the ice is helfully tipped into a drawer for use. Only problem is that if you don't use ice often enough it literally disappears from the drawer and tray - it's a frost free freezer so I think it must just remove all the moisture or something Confused

SecondHandSnake · 23/10/2017 10:44

We have a wood burner. I love it when we have a fire in it. But I hate cleaning it out afterwards so much that we almost never do.

Maireadplastic · 23/10/2017 11:00

'I fucking hate ironing so much I haven't ironed in years! This will have to stop next September though when my daughter starts school, as I can't have her going to school with crumpled clothes because I'm lazy!'
I have three school-aged boys but still don't iron. Only husband's shirts get ironed and he does that.
