AIBU to worry about turning up to pick up my 2 year old from nursery today and discovering that he had a battery from a torch in his mouth which he had been sucking and eating ?! Do I go to OFSTED on this one or deal directly with the nursery staff who did know he was doing it !

They are definitely understaffed , and struggling to cope I can see that.

It is very concerning that parents are able to take photos on mobiles without anyone noticing
That's a major safeguarding fail
This is the reason schools shouldn't be doing childcare
They haven't got a clue
2 year olds have very different beds than pre schoolers

Go to ofsted, I’m a Nanny/ex nursery staff and that is inexcusable!! Kids get things in their mouths fine but for no one to notice and send him home like that shows a lack of proper supervision.

I couldn't forgive this!
I wouldn't be sending him back

Hope your son's ok OP

Don’t send him back!!

Toys where children can access the batteries - an absolute no

Not enough staff - an absolute no

Parents using mobile phones and taking photos in the setting - an absolute no

They need to sort their basic safeguarding out before any children are in that setting!
