AIBU to think DD shouldn't have done this?

I'm going to say she was unreasonable. She walked out without giving notice just because she was made redundant. As I understand it if the contract says so then the employer can make deductions from her final pay packet for that. She's also burnt her bridges in terms of getting a reference.

I would say she was right.

I had a boss at the end of my shift tell me I wasn't being kept on.

Of course I was the ONLY person who didn't know it was coming.
I was completly humiliated and felt like I had been used.
She stuck up for herself and what she believes. Well done to her.

If I needed the wage until the end of probationary period I would have stayed. I don’t think it’s being a mug to stay if they are paying you. I’m not in a position to walk out of work now, and wasn’t at 17 due to my fondness of the pub
