I've just heard a song and one of the lyrics goes along the lines of

"....and we make love right there on your best friends couch...."

This has pissed me right of!

1. Why on your best friends couch?
2. Stains? Do you think they put a towel down first?
3. Smell? We can all smell sex!
4. What if he walks in on you?

I’m a happy person but I never felt I had to....
“Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof”

Apart from the fact rooms don't ever have a roof, so you feel like, well just a room.

And Elton, couldn't you have written better than:

And even though we try,

all our words cannot express
the joy you brought us through the years.

To be fair to Elton, I think someone else writes the lyrics.

God forbid she tries to engage you in anything too challenging!

"They shook, and lurched all over the church floor." (Crash Test Dummies - Mmmm mmm mmm) There's just something about this song that disturbs me on a deep level, at this line in particular he sings in a way that makes me a bit nauseous

"What's the point in sharing this one and only life, ending up just another lost and lonely wife? If you count up the years then they will be filled with tears." (Young Hearts Run Free)
This song is just one long rant about a crap marriage, but it's framed as 'don't get married people, marriage is shit'! Whenever I hear it I think, no, marriage can be great, just don't marry a tosser!! LTB!! It gets a lot if play at wedding too because the melody is so upbeat, people don't realise it's a sad song!
