To think me exercising now won't make any difference to how I look in two weeks time?

I go on holiday in 2.5 weeks. Dubai, Bangkok and Vietnam for two weeks.

I have a gym membership which for various reasons, I've not used as much as I intended to recently.

I have booked shit loads of classes (body attack, body combat, Pilates etc) for the next two weeks but to be honest, the motivation isn't there because I feel that exercising now won't make any difference to my appearance in two weeks!

I'm already at target weight so the issue now is just toning up but in two weeks, I'll be away from the gym for two weeks anyway so any progress will just be consumed in rice and pad Thai!!

AIBU to just sack it off and start a new regime when I get back?

Mentally it would do you the world of good

Raver84 · 17/10/2017 12:33

You need to do no more trouble zones dvd every day between now and when you go and you will be toned to perfecrion. 40 mins per day rather than loads of gym classes

Lethal perhaps because it is not necessarily appropriate Hmm?

Absolutely try BodyPump OP. I am tiny and quite weak but do it twice a week and have done for a year and love it! I have small, light weights compared to others in the class but honest to god no-one cares. There are 30 people in the class and I just stay at the back, never really look at anyone else as too busy concentrating on the instructor. Go to the class 15 mins early to get all your equipment out and have a chat with the trainer. All ages, sizes, genders etc in the class.

I do Combat and agree that it is very cardio, I shouldn't really do it as can't afford to lose the calories but just love it so go along and drink lots of Complan and eat on the way home.

Do think that cramming that amount of classes into a fortnight would just overwhelm you, personal trainer and some free weights is a great idea too.

Hope you do join and have a wonderful holiday you lucky thing!

I agree iwth other posters - dial back the cardio (cut combat classes down to one or two), do the pilates and do some weight work - book in with a trainer in the gym for form and technique and a programme if you dont like the look of body pump classes.

RHOLST39 · 17/10/2017 12:39

Body pump is better for toning!

Liskee · 17/10/2017 12:41

you want weights or something like callanetics. That'll tone you up in 10 days and can be done at home.

ConkerGame · 17/10/2017 13:32

Definitely keep it up!

MrsPinkCock · 17/10/2017 13:50

I disagree Smile

Two weeks of running (4-5 days a week) gives me a noticeable difference. My leg muscles tone really quickly. 2 weeks is also enough for me to lose half a stone.

You won’t get the perfect body, but you may get a reasonable improvement.

noeffingidea · 17/10/2017 13:57

It depends on the individual. Some people gain muscle much quicker than others.
You can only try though. I agree with others, you need to train with weights, and eat a clean high protein diet (and definitely enough calories).

riseandfall · 18/10/2017 07:13

MrsPink the OP DOESN'T want to lose weight though
