Fingers and rings after divorce.

Disclaimer - I know this will make me sound like a crazy insecure lady that's because I am.

Also, I'm separated for a year with very young children so I know I am far, far from ready for a new relationship. But...

I LOVED my wedding ring, and wearing a ring on my wedding ring finger.

Firstly, do you think wearing a ring on this finger jinxes the possibility of a future relationship? Please don't take the piss.

Secondly, what kind of rings can I wear that don't look childish? My wedding band seemed so grown up.I really miss it.

Dear friends,

Just wondered if you could advise? I’ve been with my husband for 19 years married for 16. He’s 21 years my senior which I feel has been the biggest catalyst for our problems. It seems the more time passes the bigger the gap between us. I have tried as has he but we just seem to be treading water.

Whenever I’ve mentioner that there are problems in our marriage he’s brushed my feelings aside and never taken it seriously. I feel things are now beyond repair. There’s no affection between us and the prospect of any intimacy between us repulses me, I just can’t make myself be intimate with him anymore.

I know divorce is the right thing to do deep down but I’m scared of telling him as he’ll get mad and be unreasonable . Also, he has grown up children who will be unpleasant .

I’m frightened of filing for divorce and selling our house and wondering if I can manage on my own financially and with day to day issues.

I’m only 45 and he’s 66 now . We have a son who’s 10.

I’ve stuck with this relationship for my sons sake as I didn’t want to disrupt him or be labelled a money grabbing person so I’ve just plodded on for the last 10 years or so but I feel it’s no life for either of us.

Any advise would be appreciated xxx

I still wear mine, one on each hand. I'd got so used to wearing them I just didn't change when we split up. My lovely new partner doesn't care, he knows it's because I like them not because I want my ex back. I think I will change them when I can afford nice replacements.

When I got divorced I stopped wearing my wedding ring almost immediately and got my engagement ring resized to wear on another finger.

I felt like it meant something to me to wear them on my ring finger and it was better to take them off that finger when the marriage was over.

Wear whatever you like. Anyone who doesn't like it can fuck off.

I don't wear my wedding ring now. I don't wear my engagement ring as we were young and poor when he bought it and I stopped wearing it after six years. I do however wear my lovely expensive "eternity" obviously not ring as it is fab. I alternate it between my hands just to confuse people.

Bizarre wearing a ring on your wedding finger when you aren’t married or engaged.

ZOMBIE THREAD ALERT!!!

I sold my engagement and wedding rings first time round.

I'm now remarried and wear neither engagement or wedding rings. People can make of that what they will but I don't feel the need to be identified as married by looking at my finger. My husband doesn't wear a ring either.

Oh ffs I'm a twat not looking at the date 😂
