Ok so last night dp picked me up, as he did so I squirmed and he dropped me, from over a metre, straight onto kitchen floor, right on my coccyx. Initially I couldn't move, led on the floor for 5 mins in agony before turning over and managing to get myself up, the pain is horrendous and only relieved slightly by sitting down, everything else brings tears to my eyes, getting up, walking, sitting down initially, bending etc etc managed to get to sleep in early hours and woke at 6 needing loo, took me a good five minutes to get off the bed and walk to loo, where it took me so long to try and sit on the loo I accidentally peed myselfBlush
I had some trampoline left over from a few yrs ago when I had a dental access so found those in the first aid box and have had 2 of those this morning, it's helped slightly but not taken away the pain completely.

I'm not sure what to do?? obviously it might be bruised or it might have fractured but there's not much anyone can do either way, but hoping they can give me some prescription strength painkillers as ibruofen and paracetamol last night didn't even touch the pain. Apparently they don't usually X-ray for this injury but I have read if they do a pr (yuk) they can feel whether it's broken or not.

It sounds like you may have fractured it.

PurplePillowCase · 15/10/2017 14:31

yes go.
you need an assessment of the damage and a recommendation for painkillers, laxatives, physio etc.
agree to getting a pillow to sit on. something like this

You have a lot of sympathy from me as I did the same falling off a horse - it was absolute agony for ages and horrible getting up from sitting down. I found putting weight into my hands to push myself up was the best thing!

Bratsandtwats · 15/10/2017 16:21

I think I broke mine after falling down the stairs. Took at least 6 months to fully heal. Still gives a bit of gyp every now and again 9 years later.

PurplePillowCase · 15/10/2017 16:29

I also broke mine falling off a horse. took a couple if months to heal. worse bit was going to the toilet tbh as I couldn't push.

LaurieFairyCake · 15/10/2017 16:32

Oh god you poor thing. I know someone who also broke theirs, still not back to full driving or full work days after 6 months!

Funny enough I've had a few injuries The the area over the years, one involving a swing when I was much younger and twice again in my late teens from falling off my pony! So it's always been a little sensitive if that's the way to describe it, not painful but I've never done sit-ups for example since my early teens as it's really uncomfortable putting pressure on it.
The painkillers are working well, it's not stopped the pain entirely but I can at least walk around now it's just the sitting and getting up/bending which causes the agony to come shooting back.
Dp despite his wine -fuelled silliness is a absolute gem luckily and has done loads of housework and suchlike today and will continue to do so! He looked rather sheepish when the dr asked how I'd done it and is feeling bad that I'm in so much pain.

Funnily enough I did ask the dr if the tablets would clog me up as I'm pretty worried about having a poo and he said the codiene might cause constipation so we went to the chemist and bought lactulose after a and e.
