To stop after 13 mins

In the past year I’ve put on about a stone and a half in weight, this week I’ve decided I’ll start exercising and trying to lose, my aim was to do an hour of exercise every morning!

But after 13 minutes I’m sweaty, feeling sick and wow I can’t believe I can’t do the hour! Aibu to stop now and build up, or should I push through

An hour is a bit much IMO. Try and aim for 20 minutes.

If you start to feel faint then yes stop. Make sure you are hydrated. You can always push yourself to more the next day.

An hour is way too much to start with, if you do too much you will find after a couple days you are floored and will then have to rest for a couple days. Start with gentle exercise and eating healthier (cut out the rubbish, cut down on sugar and processed foods). Don't do the same exercise every day, you will get fed up quickly.
I go to the gym 3 days a week and walk in between, this week I have time off work so I am doing the gym every day (1 hour session) but I have been going to the gym for a couple year and am reasonably fit, it will still tire me out. Today's my second day and I already ache. I do 30 minutes cardio and 30 minute weights each day but have now added ten minutes of toning.

An hour is quite a long time to start off with, 13 minutes is probably more than I could do right now and is 13 times more than you did yesterday! Why not pick a 20 minute video and aim to do that 2 or 3 times a week if you like that type of video, then do 30/40 minutes of a yoga video on 2 days, go for an hours walk on 2 days and have a rest day. You can build the walking up to running if you want to. Doing anything is better than nothing though!

I was the same at first, it will get easier. I use the Pop Sugar youtube videos. They start at 5 mins so you can build them up. I also use the couch25k app three times a week and also go to the gym for a 30 minute circuit, 30 secs on a machine, 30 secs cardio.

Thank you all so much for the feedback, I realise I have to cut down on food intake and really change my diet, this has to happen. Tomorrow I will start that too!

Definitely going to build up slowly now, I’m usually fairly active, don’t drive and cycle every where with ds who also cycles along, we also swim regularly, so it’s definitely something to do with diet.

Also this cardio workout is a lot different to cycling, I also find I get tired walking.

Will figure this all out. Especially with all your help :)
