CFN Bin Gate.. who is BU?

Neighbour on a very busy row of terraced houses with parking on both sides is popping her wheely bin in the road for what we can only assume is to save a parking space. The first time we parked behind it and left it as thought we wouldn't get involved and there was one other space (it's a busy road, I regularly park up to 0.3 miles away during peak hours) but today her bin was blocking the only remaining parking space on our bit of road, it was directly outside my house so I got out and moved it. I put the bin in front of her house. Her neighbour had just parked a little further up the road when we arrived so they had clearly not attempted to move it but parked up the road out of their way to avoid it. Not seen or heard from her yet and her bin is still where I left it. We've lived here a little while and she's only just started doing it, but twice in a couple of days, who knows if she does it when we're both at work! Is she being a CFN or is this common practise? It's annoyed me as you can tell! WWYD?

I've just noticed the question marks are yours, not the notes, ignore PP.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 09/10/2017 12:06

'bin in Road due to house move'??? I don't think this provides enough context to warrant a bin in the road

Obviously, they have just moved into your road, and the bin is trying to get back to its old home. They are like cats that way. You have to keep them in for a fortnight and then put butter on their paws wheels before you let them out again.

True fact.

RestingBitchFaced · 10/10/2017 20:24

Ignore the note and keep moving the bin if you see it, CF!!

LakieLady · 10/10/2017 20:30

Reply with note on bin "this bin has been left in the road several times - how many times are you moving?"

Great note! I hope you use it, OP.

Ninabean17 · 10/10/2017 20:50

I would keep moving the bin. Every single day until she got the point.

Greenkit · 11/10/2017 23:18

Cheeky F

Move every time

NoCryLilSoftSoft · 11/10/2017 23:26

Has she moved out yet?

cinderellashoe · 13/10/2017 20:07

So... No she has not moved. I hadn't seen any bins this week but then both me and OH have been working late so who knows. Anyway I came home today and there was 3 bins (her 2 and a neighbours) in the road outside my, my neighbour and her house with red tape connecting them. They were blocking at least 3 spaces and I had to park down the road so I went and knocked!

I asked what the deal with the bins in the road was and she explained she was moving, I said do you have a notice from the council saying you could block the road and she said no and if I cared I could ring them. She was very aggressive and said everyone does it and I should be a courteous neighbour and let her get on with it! Bloody CF she should have been courteous to ask us first. She said 'you have parked in my spot before' which did make me laugh because there aren't designated spots it's a very busy road. She's moving out tomorrow thank god! She was extremely rude so I took a photo of the bins and as I walked away she said 'f..k off b...h!' -charming!

NoCryLilSoftSoft · 13/10/2017 20:11

Shock nasty fucker! All she had to do was knock and tell you she was moving on X date and could you keep the space clear!

Aridane · 13/10/2017 20:44

My neighbours do this to reserve the space outside their house. Doesn't bother me. Why would it?

cinderellashoe · 13/10/2017 21:13

Bothers me because it's a very busy road and I don't want to park a quarter of a mile away at 7pm when I'm tired and there's a perfectly good space outside my door with a wheely bin blocking it haha

OP posts:
OlennasWimple · 13/10/2017 21:22

Perhaps CFN used to live in Boston and is used to the concept of space savers? (Joke)

NoCryLilSoftSoft · 13/10/2017 21:29

Except she hasn't just reserved her own space aridane she has reserved OP's space and another neighbour's! That's proper cheeky fucker status!

Auspiciouspanda · 13/10/2017 21:54

Please say you still parked in the space!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 13/10/2017 22:00

You will almost certainly find you aren't allowed to have the bins out before a certain time before collection if you look on your council website.

Ours are supposed to go out on the morning of collection. Bloody stupid, there's no way I'm getting up earlier to put them out so they go out the day before, sometimes mid afternoon, depending on what we are doing.

Ontheboardwalk · 13/10/2017 22:13

Why would she need to block the spaces from 8pm (and earlier) the night and days before?

Surely it's a chat with the nighbours to say if you aren't already out at work in the morning, as I'm moving out tomorrow could you give me a bit of space when the removal van comes?

NoCryLilSoftSoft · 13/10/2017 22:27

My dickhead neighbour's has been out since Tuesday evening and left lying in the middle of the road since Wednesday when the bin men just dumped it. I had to pull it onto the footpath today to get the car past as there was a car parked on the other side of the road. Inconsiderate pricks.

Nothing else for it then - penguin bollards!

Ok then maybe a letter sent 3 weeks before the move date and fingers crossed it doesn't get delivered to a neighbour who refuses to bring it round to you

LexieLulu · 14/10/2017 00:00

Move the bin in the road to outside her house and leave a note "bin in front of wrong house for house move" AngryConfused

Submissivenikki · 27/07/2022 16:45

You've obviously never been to Chicago, USA have you? If you move anything placed in the street and then park your car in that very same spot, rest assured you will return to broken windows and lights, and 4 flat tires.

rightonthyme · 27/07/2022 16:57

Well, the OP might have gone to Chicago 5 years since she posted... :D

MarsupiIami · 27/07/2022 17:00

😂 what an odd zombie

Whammyyammy · 27/07/2022 17:04

She's a CF with a huge dose of self entitlement. Good job wheelie bins have wheels. I would of moved it and would do every time.
