Sibling school picture tomorrow

DD had diarrhoea on Sunday, Monday and this morning (once at 7:30).. she still isn't herself appetite wise so the teacher said to take her back Thursday to be safe. (My intention anyway).

When I went in the office, they said she could come back Wednesday if nothing else happened and she was okay in herself..

So teacher said 48 hours and office said 24 Hmm

Anyway. DD is in reception so this is first school pictures for her. I would need to take them in early for the pictures - at 8:15 rather than normal school time.

AIBU to take her and DS in for the sibling picture and then bring her home? I've had to take her with me up the school to collect DS anyway.

She is absolutely fine mood wise and happily playing with DS since he got home from school.

Not unreasonable at all. But she won't be in her class picture?
If it doesn't work out then take both children to a studio with their uniforms on and get your own 'school' photos done!

Bazinga1234 · 03/10/2017 17:23

@House4 my DS was in reception last year and they didn't have a whole class picture.

I can handle not having one of her alone, but I've been so excited for this sibling one for ages now!

I had even brought hair bows in school colours haha. I will definitely look into how much a professional shoot would be though; good back up option. I didn't even think of that!

I think you are UR, NHS guidelines requires you to be off for 48 hours symptom free, your child won’t be in the gymnasium alone, they will be in and around other children and parents

As a parent of a compromised immune child, YABVU

Bazinga1234 · 03/10/2017 17:31

@HaudYerWheeshtBawbag she has been around them today anyway as I had to take her with me when I dropped off and collected DS, because I didn't have anyone to have her.

Max spielmann are great if you have one near you and end up diy-ing the photo. You can get a portrait in various sizes for £6. Not super art-sie like you get at venture etc but up to the standard of most school photos anyway

Looneytune253 · 03/10/2017 17:52

Max spielman do super cheap identical photos to the ones taken in school. Just take them down one day both in school uniform and sorted.

You should abide by the 48 hour rule, as it's there for a reason.

Unless you don't mind the other children and adults being infected.

Sirzy · 03/10/2017 18:10

The rules don’t only apply when you want them too! 48 hours is 48 hours!

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuckKeidis · 03/10/2017 18:14

House4 at my DC's school, they have individual/sibling photos and class photos on different days.

Bazinga1234 · 03/10/2017 18:33

She had another bout 20 minutes ago so I definitely won't be taking her for pictures.

I still need to take DS in, but that will be normal time.

I'm going to start messaging local photographers. To see if anyone has space during half term.

Don't know whereabouts you are, but there is a massive gastro-thing going round here. Went with dh (who's been ill since last Thursday with it) to the GP who said it can last up to 10 days, is highly contagious and the local hospital is actually at crisis point with admissions for it (dehydration), but can't make an official announcement about it, as that means they'll get 5x the number of people presenting at A&E with symptoms. He also said that there categorically MUST be a 48 hour window between last episode of diarrhoea and going back to work.

Bazinga1234 · 03/10/2017 19:02

@thatdearoctopus blimey! That's really bad.

When I went in the office today - at 9am after I dropped DS on, the receptionist showed me her A4 book and she'd nearly filled 2 pages already that morning with illness!

Chicken pox is going round the school too. 2 children in DDs class had it last week, none of my children have had it so I thought it would be that they'd catch!

I've been anti-bac-ing and bleaching the house like mad and washing my hands at length as much as possible.

House4 · 03/10/2017 19:23

.... walks to get the bleach spray ....!!
