DH - "what re these nappies doing on the sofa?"

GB - "they're ready for me to fold an put away"

DH - "Does every horizontal surface in this house have to be covered in stuff?"

GB goes out for the day with kids, doesn't get back till tea time

gives her dh time to tidy the house after his morning rowing if he's so worried about it

growingbagpuss · 09/04/2007 08:59

Tempting - as is a general strike on all of HIS stuff. I'l do mine and DS's but his can stay exactly where he leaves it

good idea, leave his stuff lying around

have a nice day if you decide to go for it!

mum2sons · 09/04/2007 09:07

I agree with going on strike. Have done that myself after similar conversation. It was hard to let the washing basket fill up but it worked a treat

And anyway, why should you be doing housework on this lovely sunny day?

growingbagpuss · 09/04/2007 09:18

Sadly - today is my only day to get stuff done. Working tues, weds, out for day thurs, working long day fri and FIL and Scary 18yr old niece coming on Sat!!!

At least in this weather the washing dries fast!

Mum's on strike sounds like a fab idea

Mamalennon · 09/04/2007 09:53

Growingbagpuss - def. a bit mean to do it at
8 a.m.

It would be an interesting experiment if you were to spend a few days not touching anything DH leaves lying. Unless of course he is a neat freak? But then that begs the question why doesn't he pick up?

I.M.E. these issues are often not REALLY about the housework, but that's a whole different thread...

i think we should call in a general strike. i'll join in. we can shout at people putting washing out on the line "SACB"!

tell your dh to sort his out farkin washing out! also, in our house, nappies are dual responsibility, as is a lot of the childcare! took us a while to get there, but it's cool.

hope you have a lovely day, whatever you decide to do! x

theUrbanDryadLovesCremeEggs · 09/04/2007 10:42

SCAB not, SACB! that sounds like the initials of a militant union.

paulaplumpbottom · 09/04/2007 10:42

I'm sure he is capable of putting things away to. Remind him that he to is capable
