AIBU to pull out of this business trip?

6+5 pregnant, first child.

Suffering from really bad nausea and exhaustion, in bed by 9 each night. Feel like crap, had head over toilet bowl, had diarrhoea. Nausea is 24 hours a day pretty much. Struggling to eat much.

Meant to be going on a business trip in a few days, it's abroad, so 2 hour journey to the airport then 3 hour flight. It's to an Eastern European country, somewhere I have never been before so I'm not familiar with the place. Meant to be going on my own, so no colleagues for 'back up' were I to need any support.

Spoke to my boss who's been very understanding, says it would be nice if I can continue with the trip but understands if I'm not well enough then I'm not well enough.

Don't want to let work down though and also keen to stay in the good books.

WWYD?

Do you think you will do a good job for your company as you puke over the other company rep, rush to the loo and fall asleep during a presentation?

Tell your boss you are too ill. Pregnancy is not an illness, diarrhea, sickness, etc, are illnesses, however they have come about. And whatever reason has you going green and reaching for a sick bag mid presentation... it's not nice for anyone. Ask if you can do the work by Skype, conference call or email (if relevant).

Been there done that (in first hyperemesis pregnancy) didn't bother in second pregnancy. You will not regret not going but you might regret going. Take care of yourself and your baby as number 1 priority. Trust me. It's not worth it.

I went to San Diego on a business trip when I was nine weeks. I was lucky not to be sick but by god I was exhausted all the time. Barely remembered my meetings five minutes after being in them and then the training day I was barely awake. And it took me a good week to recover when I got back. It was rubbish...
