To not accept an invitation to dinner because of what's growing underneath my friend's acrylics?

I cannot bear the sight of natural nails underneath false ones. They're brown, look dirty and must be harbouring all sorts of germs.

Can anyone explain why people spend £££s on acrylics, when they look completely foul from the palm side up.

Is it because she doesn't have them 'done' often enough?

waterlego washing but not drying means you haven't finished cleaning your hands properly, according to all the guidelines on how to wash properly. I thought everyone knew that. I could understand it in the days when it used to be a manky old towel that was the only option in public washrooms.

Thanks Landed, I'm interested in why that is though- the scientific reason for it. I do generally dry my hands of course, for convenience/comfort, but in a public bathroom, some people take aaaaages at the handdrier and I don't always have enough time to wait!

YANBU. If you don’t have the time and/or money for proper upkeep you shouldn’t have long nails. Some colleagues’ nails actually make me gag Easter Smile

Oops, that was definitely not meant to be a happy Easter bunny!!!

Long nails look horrible and unhygienic , fake or natural. If you can see the nail when looking at the nail from palm side it's too long. Like witches talons

Uptheduffy · 03/10/2017 21:43

Witches talons are cool, surely?

YANBU!! Long nails fake or real are unhygienic and harbour germs underneath. I always feel a bit grossed out when I look a hands with long nails as even if they look clean you know the person has highly unlikely cleaned the underneaths of the nails recently or even at all! Cleaning the hands with soap may not reach the underneath of the nails at all. Yuk!!

I would struggle to eat food prepared by someone with long nails as well.
