To be this lazy?

DP is away for his hobby today not back until the evening.

When he left this morning DS (2) was already awake and in our room on the bed playing with his teddy and books and I was still under the sheets.

Somehow (and I'm prepared to call this an actual miracle) DS snuggled up to me and we ended up falling asleep shortly after DP left (around 8am) and didn't wake up until 11.30!!! When DS started stirring.

By the time we came around and crawled out of bed both snoozed out it was nearly 12 BlushBlushBlush

I changed DS, made him some food and threw on some pjs on myself.

So far today I have managed to:

  • feed DS
  • hang out some washing
  • wash the dishes from last night
  • read a magazine
  • provide DS with snacks and water
  • procrastinate on Mumsnet
  • supervise DSs drawing and playing
  • danced with DS to blaze and the monster machines (multiple times) as per his request

And I'm not planning on doing much else...

DP will be back later tonight so he will be bringing in a takeaway for us.

I need to feed DS his dinner and tire him out enough so he goes to bed at his normal time - although that seems like a slim chance considering this mornings miracle.

I am also in need of a good soak and need to take a razor to my forest of leg hair as I haven't done so in a bit longer than I want to admit. A conditioning treatment for my frizz bomb of hair wouldn't go amiss either...

It's my only day off in the week.

WIBU to just make sure DS is fed, entertained, clean and put to bed and then have a little pamper session and not do anything else today? (I'm also 8mo pg) .

Yes, you would be hugely unreasonable.

You should be down t'pit. Pregnant schmegnant.

mossyroundhill · 01/10/2017 16:35

I can't judge if YABU until I know what the secret hobby is

LittleBooInABox · 01/10/2017 16:35

Yanbu pamper away!

MrsCharlieD · 01/10/2017 16:35

Of course you are! I'm 38 weeks pregnant and dh has been in bed most if the day after nights. So far today I've showered and washed my hair, made breakfast and cleaned up kitchen and put on the dishwasher, made beans on toast for lunch and that's about it. Ds who's 3 has watched wreck it Ralph and sword in the stone and didn't even get dressed until about 3pm.

It's been wet and miserable here all day and I've got a stinking cold to boot so I feel no guilt over my super lazy day.

operaha · 01/10/2017 16:36

Yes, he sounds massively out of order.

What else were you supposed to do today Hmm Confused

WorraLiberty · 01/10/2017 16:36

YABU

Get your trainers and tracksuit on and go for a 5 mile run.

MrsCharlieD · 01/10/2017 16:36

Sorry I meant to say yanbu!!

I was going to say yanbu til I saw you're 8 mo pregnant!!!!! Definitely nbu.

This is exactly what I'd do every weekend given the chance :)

Bluerose27 · 01/10/2017 16:49

Why would you need to do more?
Enjoy the relax!

00100001 · 01/10/2017 16:56

You really could do more. Surely the skirting boards need cleaning? Isn't there a drawer of crap you need to sort? Did you dust the entire house?
Do you even love your DS??

KindergartenKop · 01/10/2017 16:57

Are you concerned that DH might criticise you? Cos he's buggered off to his hobby all day, leaving you with DS and huge bump!

Butterymuffin · 01/10/2017 16:59

Is this because you'll have to answer to your partner later about how you've spent the day? You do what you like. Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

Bluetrews25 · 01/10/2017 17:00

Er, that's not all you have done! You have continued to grow a new human. (In your SLEEP, too, now that's impressive!)

thedinosaur · 01/10/2017 17:00

Thank you for the reassurance Grin

Currently stuck DS in a early long bubble bath with his toys in the hopes of tiring him out and sat next to him on the floor mumsnetting.

He will have his dinner afterwards.

TBH there's a lot to do in the house and a lot of cleaning to catch up on but as a wise swordsman once said "what do we say to the God of domestic tasks?" "Not today" Wink (or something like that I'm sure).

Ooooh, sounds like a lovely day!

thedinosaur · 01/10/2017 17:04

I think I've just upped my lazy game...

In order to be able to type away without DS distracting me every 2 seconds showing me his bath toys I have put a makeup mirror in the corner of the bath so he is currently showing his toys off to his own reflection , do I get a prize?

OP posts:
NuffSaidSam · 01/10/2017 17:12

Grin that is genius!!

Let them parent themselves! I'm going to try the mirror trick tomorrow!

parkednearby · 01/10/2017 17:16

OP you will remember this day as one of the nicest Sundays you've ever had Grin

liquidrevolution · 01/10/2017 17:22

I think your DS will remember this as one of the nicest Sundays as well. No nagging, no being dragged out to the shops or soft play.

To be fair I tend to crash like that on a Friday when DD after 4 x 10 hr days in Nursery we tend to crash in front of CBeebies for most of the day. She still sleeps fine.

wavinggoodbyetothewinewitch · 01/10/2017 18:01

Erm, that doesn't even sound like a particularly lazy day to me... Blush

thedinosaur · 01/10/2017 19:32

@NuffSaidSam it worked surprisingly well Grin

Fed DS his dinner, read an extra long bedtime book and cuddle and he's in bed.

I managed to have a bath, tackle the forest on my legs and wash my hair.
Currently in the lounge in my fluffy socks, some fudge, a loo roll and a Vicks stick as my nose won't stop running Envy

Girlsworld92 · 01/10/2017 19:57

Sounds like a perfect Sunday. Enjoy.

Pinky333777 · 01/10/2017 20:10

Why are you asking?
Do what you like! 😊
