Or is my neighbour?

Recently moved into a new rented property which are a block of apartments with car parking underneath some (hard to explain)

Finished having my bath and there was a knock on the door from our neighbour notifying me there was a leak which must be coming from my bathroom which has caused a lot of water to be dripped into the back of her car which was parked (with the roof down) in the car park.

She has asked me if I would mind getting rid of the water that has dripped all over her backseats.

First off. I have only lived here a week and wouldn't have a clue about a leak, I do not own this property and have called the estate agent to let them know, but did decline to clear up the water.

AIBU?

Your neighbour is being ridiculous. Where the leak is coming from is not your fault or responsibility. They can call the landlord.

MehMehAndMeh · 30/09/2017 19:03

Yanbu. Your neighborhood our has immediately lept in with cheeky fuckeritis. Inform your letting agents/landlord and ignore the outlandish requests.

isthistoonosy · 30/09/2017 19:03

Id have cleaned it up, neither of you knew about the leak but you did cause the mess.

FFS neighbour not neighbourhood our

SteampunkPrincess · 30/09/2017 19:08

hahaha - shes crazy

Pancakeflipper · 30/09/2017 19:10

Tell her to contact your landlord/letting agency about getting her car valeted.

HeebieJeebies456 · 30/09/2017 19:13

Tell her to park elsewhere/with the roof up until the landlord has checked out the supposed 'leak'

Escapepeas · 30/09/2017 19:13

That sounds like utter bollocks. How can she possibly know the water came from your flat?

Allthewaves · 30/09/2017 19:22

I would have said no very nicely and tell her I will speak to landlord about the leak.

TheAntiBoop · 30/09/2017 19:38

Why has she assumed the leaked from your flat?

Sounds like a managing agent point tbh

SteppingOnToes · 30/09/2017 20:43

I may have come from your flat, I may not have. It's for the letting agent to deal with as others have said - just pass on their details, they'll soon get fed up of her whinging and you get your leak fixed quicker ;)

Do people leave cars overnight with the top down??
