Eating bacon rolls...with cutlery!?

Currently staying at DPs parents house. They are wonderful people and always provide lots of lovely food wherever we visit. His mum produced bacon and egg rolls. Looking forward as rarely eat bacon rolls. She made the rolls herself, bacon from a local award winning butchers and eggs from a neighbour. Sat down to eat...to which they proceeded to do so using a knife and fork...for bacon rolls Shock

AIBU to think this should be a criminal offense?

Mind you, there was a thread a while back about eating burgers with forks. We then went out to restaurant wetherspoons and all the grownups ate burgers with cutlery.

I've recently started eating oranges with a knife and fork, because they stain my nails 😊

Bacon bun, with butter and mayo Smile

sonlypuppyfat · 30/09/2017 23:39

Surely a bun is a cake with currants in it

toffee1000 · 01/10/2017 00:19

sonly there are all sorts of regional words for bread products. Bap, barm, bun, roll... it gets bloody confusing sometimes.

Anecdoche - this made me chuckle

Pregz - I have to eat EVERYTHING with a knife/fork I don't know why I'm like this but OH thinks it's the funniest thing ever when I have to awkwardly ask for cutlery when we are out for food that really doesn't require it

I know and accept that it's weird but everyone has their quirks lol!

it must take you forever to finish a bowl of soup 😁😁

It's definitely a batch.

It’s a roll here in Scotland 🙈

Another vote for bacon batch here!

This thread reminds me of a conversation I had with an ex work colleague. Him and his girlfriend had just moved down here from somewhere up north and she was in the works canteen. She asked for a sausage tea cake meaning sausages in a batch/roll/barm/cob (delete as applicable!)

She was pretty put out when she got given sausages in a hot cross bun!

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 01/10/2017 09:05

scruffles i work in London and it just feels wrong to ask for a bacon roll, but when I have asked for a batch they look a bit blank. I am so glad to be amongst like minded people.

Oysterbabe · 01/10/2017 10:20

I say roll if it's a ball shaped one and a bap if it's flat.
