In being upset about Easter?

I made a big fuss over this easter as it's the first one we've spent at home since dd (3) was born (normally visit family). Made Easter cookies yesterday, helped dd decorate an Easter bonnet to wear today, made boiled eggs to decorate to roll down a hill somewhere, arranged days out for the weekend and bought easter eggs for everybody (including dh who has a milk allergy! and MIL who is visiting for the weekend). Have just made breakfast for everbody (inlcuding a boiled egg for dd in her new princess egg cup ) but dh hasn't even bought me a creme egg .

So aibu in getting wound up about this or is it just life?

I bought myself a huge flake egg so that I wouldn't care when dh didn't even remember what day it is

Your dh could have taken dd out to choose something nice for you. He did know you'd gone to all this effort (on top of having MIL to stay!!!)?

YEs I am missing the true point of EAster but I just make a fuss of everything . Any opportunity!
Shoudl have bought myself one I think

P.S MIL did treat us to dinner last night and we went out to comedy club so not all bad. BUt I want chocolate

YEs dh knows I've gone to this effort but it doesn't register with him. We're meant to be leaving at 10.30 and I've still to get us all to paint our boiled eggs and make our packed lunch so obviously I'm on here
MIL is fab though

well I suppose you have to first wrestle with the question: Is this the opportunity to celebrate the resurrection of Christ to eternal life or the opportunity to eat chocolate with impunity?

i'm getting nothing from dh for easter, no biggie. really cannot get that hyped about it.

Watch out, Hayls, I have called the emergency chocolate number and a man dressed in black is abseiling into your living room even as you read this.

You will find a big box of chocolates waiting for you when he's gone.

I am very impressed by all the work you've put into it, at any rate.

We're not doing anything for easter. We're not Christian so to me it's what the retail sector describe as another 'gifting opportunity.' My children haven't even had eggs but ds is away at ex ils so will get some there and dd is too small to know anything about it.

Dh and I certainly haven't got each other anything and never will.

So I would say yes, you are being unreasonable!

Nah I'm not really miffed at not getting choc as I can eat dd's. I'm upset because dh could have made a (very small) effort and he didn't.
Eating chocolate with imupinty holds a certain appeal but I do realise the relavance of this weekend and have explained it to dd.

Ok I will forgive the lack of chocolate if I go downstairs and dh has made the packed lunch. Actually dd has just appeared fully dressed so things may be looking up.

He normally does make a fuss of everything else. WIll check if my chocolate has been delivered when I go downstairs. Hope the emergency chocolate delivery man hasn't made a mess coming in teh window, window cleaners have just been.

If the man hasn't been you will just have to stare pointedly and longingly at your dd's stash until the hint is taken.

I don't think this kind of omission is always about being thoughtless, though, some people are just oblivious to the full range of

"gifting opportunities" out there.

You're doing the woman-as-a-martyr thing. You've decided to go to great lengths to make everything happy for everyone. You expect this to be appreciated. Often it's not.

You should have told dh you were looking forward to getting chocolate from him. Not really unreasonable but you need to spell it out.

I hadn't realised that grown-ups actually expected presents at Easter - til I heard people in my office talking about going out to buy Easter eggs for their other halves.

I'm just enjoying the truly terrible pun on the sign outside of our local Baptist church (they always have something groan-worthy): "What on oeuf is Easter all about? New life in Jesus".

Just life, not worth getting wound up over.

Focus on enjoying your day together and make sure dh lets you eat some of his egg.

I mamaged to buy 2 extra by mistake!! then went to buy a box of chocs for ex H to go with champagne I got him for a wedding pressie and they were bogof so I have a lovely box of chocs now!!!!
