Blocked for sale

After a tiring day at work I was going to have a quiet coffee in a cafe, but then spotted a Next clearance shop and thought I'd nip in for a quick bargain. Found a baby t shirt for £3 but the queue was long at the till. Finally being served, only to then find the item was "blocked for sale"! I asked why but cashier had no idea. AIBU to feel annoyed that it really wasted about 30mins of my time? Wish I'd just gone for that coffee.
Could anyone who work in retail enlightenment neon what that means? Thanks

Can mean product is subject to a safety withdrawal - so loose buttons/ poppers that might be a choke hazard type of thing

Pastacube · 29/09/2017 20:55

i had that once with a sandwich, they couldn't sell it to be as it was an 'illegal sandwich'

Pickleypickles · 29/09/2017 20:57

Illegal sandwich 😂😂

Product withdrawal for safety. Annoying for you, but definitely in your best interests.

ShoutyMcShouty · 29/09/2017 21:14

😂 illegal sandwich!
I guessed it might be something like that - not fit for sale somehow. But then it was just a basic t shirt with a monkey on it!

But everyone knows monkeys are cheeky.
