To get botox on the sly

I've namechanged for this as really don't want to get found out.
My friend has recently trained to give botox injections and has offered to do the "frown lines" on my forehead. I have been wanting them done for a while now as they are getting quite ingrained. My problem is that she has hers done (obviously not by herself)and her eyebrows are a good three inches above her eyes and look ridiculous, she is also incredibly hamfisted when it comes to anything practical, and is severely lacking in artistic judgement. Bless her, that sounds awful, but she is not the sort of person who would take a criticism at all well. I would much prefer to get them done by some one with a medical qualification, but she has mentioned it a couple of times now and has recently given up her job to pursue this new career. I do see her fairly frequently, and am running out of ways to put her off.
WIBU to have them done sneakily at a proper clinic, and how do I do this and avoid upsetting her? I do trust that there are experienced clinicians that can do a proper job, and have a recommendation for an excellent lady not too far away, I'm just dithering because it will be obvious I went somewhere else so I will have to own up eventually, meanwhile my lines are getting more obvious.

Ooh FizzyGreen, you're good. I'll give that a go. I think Zooey looks fine btw, who am I to judge her face? I hate those articles, they obviously choose the worst photos to prove a point. I can feel my frown lines deepening just thinking about it. I will look into it more though, as you all suggest, it would be shit if it wasn't as I'd hoped, and then I guess you have to keep going even if it is. I think I'm just at the now or never stage, or maybe way past it. Angry+Grin

Sorry OP, although you are free to do what you want, you cannot possibly say Zooey Deschanel looks fine. She looks fucking awful. Her face looks puffed and bloated, and she looks much older.

She was so cute and pretty before, and she looks odd and freaky now.

So do many other women who have stuff done to their face.

You even said yourself that your friend looks odd, with weird eyebrows!

Up to you of course, but you may end up looking freaky and unnatural. Many people who have their face altered with botox and the like, look soooo odd (and NEVER younger!)

I got botox done on the sly a few mths ago and I love love it. I got it done between my eyebrows and side of my eyes. I didnt get it done on my forehead because im 46 and it would be a bit ridiculous not to have lines there. I love it, im not a verybully glamorous person and don't dress up much so I thinkknow people would think im the last person to grt it dinedone. My own husband didnt even notice ande is usually very observant. I ended up telling two of my friends cause I cant keep anythinf to myself, they both were amazed (unless theyre lying), one of thrm wants.to get it done as well because she was so impressed.Anyway sorry for hihacking your thread but just wanted to rave about botox...I camt stop looking in mirrorsSmile

maggieryan · 01/10/2017 22:23

Ooop sorry about the dreadful spelling, got a new phoneBlush

Blahblahboo · 01/10/2017 22:26

You do realise the dangerous toxins in that stuff right. You are much better off getting some snail gel as I've heard it's a miracle cure for aging and it's all natural. Thinking of trying it myself once my other cream runs out.
It's what Louise redknapp uses apparently

SquidgeyMidgey · 01/10/2017 22:42

I know a lady who does it in Stratford if that's nearer than Leamington OP. She's actually a doctor and I think she does most of the school run here! I've not ventured that path but she does come highly recommended, and she's lovely.

maggieryan · 01/10/2017 22:44

Dont waste your money. Nothing will get rid of that frown line barr botox and believe me ive tried everything. Also don't believe.what.celebs say, they all swear they use vaseline, snail gel etc but its shite, they are using botoxGrin

Onthehighseas · 01/10/2017 22:46

I would never have it done, but if you do want it, then for goodness sake go to a qualified doctor who has at least studied anatomy.

MorrisZapp · 01/10/2017 22:49

Right. I'm getting botox. Any recommends in Edinburgh?

MorrisZapp · 01/10/2017 22:49

Snail gel my arse :)

maggieryan · 01/10/2017 22:50

Sorry I can't help, got mine when I went back home to.ireland but.seriously its brilliant. Cheaper than.wasting your money on all those eye creams.

littlechou · 01/10/2017 23:01

Zooey looks fine. Her eyeliner in the pic on the right is dubious to say the least but she certainly doesn’t look puffy ffs Hmm

Davros · 01/10/2017 23:06

Tell her you got a token from a kind relative or other friend - after you've had it done

Aroundtheworldandback · 01/10/2017 23:07

I'm nearly 50 and have just started to do the lines between my eyes as they made me look cross; but won't be going further as prefer the natural look, and looking 30 at my age isn't that!

limitedperiodonly · 01/10/2017 23:10

Zooey looks like Noreen Colon

DeadGood · 01/10/2017 23:13

"You are being very shallow, OP. hmm

A few lines are good indicators of someone who has character... who has lived a little
Embrace your imperfections!"

Yawn.

Got any other hackneyed cliches in your back pocket, aFrayed?

squoosh · 01/10/2017 23:19

Two questions here

  1. would you be unreasonable to get botox?

Answer: Totally your call

2)would you be unreasonable to go to sneaky lengths to avoid having botox administered by ham fisted pal?

Answer: Don't be a wimp. Just give it to her straight. There's no way her wonky hands are going anywhere near your fizzog with a needle full of botox!

pandarific · 01/10/2017 23:25

Zooey looks very nice in both pics. Not at all 'puffy' Hmm.

pandarific · 01/10/2017 23:26

Except yy dodge makeup and squinting a bit.

lovemylover · 01/10/2017 23:40

Go to someone who is very experienced,or you could end up with a dropped forehead, looking as if you are frowning, and make sure they are prescribers too

Herechickychicky · 01/10/2017 23:45

I had it done once before but went a bit Spocky. I'd like to try it again though.

OP I reckon go with what Fizzy said, it's perfect.

limitedperiodonly · 01/10/2017 23:50

Zooey looks very nice in both pics. Not at all 'puffy'

Who said this? ^^ Are they blind?

squoosh · 01/10/2017 23:55

I've googled recent photos of Zooey Deschanel and she looks her usual self to me.

fizzthecat1 · 02/10/2017 00:14

If you're going to do it don't use someone "recently trained"!!! Dear god go to someone with years of experience!! You wouldn't go to a hairdresser that's just started a college course

Arealhumanbeing · 02/10/2017 00:43

@aFrayed

‘A few lines are good indicators of someone who has character... who has lived a little.
Embrace your imperfections!’

Hmm Whatever. Shush.

OP why on earth are you pussy footing around your mate? It’s your FACE you’re talking about.

Do your research and get it done by a doctor. No dentists, beauticians or recently “qualified” friends.
